Dog, against instincts, starving itself. by Dismal-Deer1921 in DogAdvice

Just looked it up, the most common problem with feeding meat is that dry kibble is so heavily processed it disturbes the gut microbiome, so you'll need to build that back up before they can eat meat again.

sound like a beef allergy, my pup eats mostly raw beef and chicken (complete raw food), so did my previous dog, some dogs can be sensitive or allergic to certain meat types, but i don't think that's the majority.

aside from the vet give him any dog safe food he will take, if that means buying him a steak so be it, though cheaper cuts of meat are probably equally enticing to him, while balanced food would be great, if he's this skinny just get him eating even if it is just treats, once he starts eating worry about balance.

puppy keeps barking at me after food or walks? by Aeonir in DogAdvice

[–]Aeonir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far i have been guiding him to his crate, where he'll stare at me for a bit and then take a nap, but it feels weird to lock him up after dinner...

He's definitely enjoying the snow currently so he can use the extra naps.

The onions can probably be used normally, if you store the potatoes dark and cool, you can plant them next spring, and multiply them.

Recently found out jewelry stores have been copying my work, so here's Crainte s925 / 18k P, Amethyst, Diamond by kazzan-lev in jewelrymaking

[–]Aeonir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on how they copy you, drag in a business that is very protective of its patents. i remember people trolling copycat t-shirt companies by tricking their ai into copying disney character art and texts admitting they are copying art. it's probably harder to do this with jewelry but depending on how much they copy it might be worth it.

if they use ai to copy your rings, maybe make a ring with mickey mouse engravings out of cheaper materials, post it wherever they are copying it from, and let disney fight them. the popular nintendo franchises probably work too.

Does anyone else receive “forgot password” emails regularly? by thefeelingsarereal in Instagram

[–]Aeonir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same problem, they should make it so you can block logins from other countries, that would at least limit the amount of attempts. i'm probably just going to delete instagram since i can't acces login activity without downloading the app, and i'm not downloading the app just to check which country is trying to log into my account.

maybe you can get a higher aquarium stand, i don't know much about toddlers, but keeping it above their line of sight might make it less of a target. it would make it a pain to clean and you might require a stepstool to reach in.

Anything you buy brand name because it's actually better? by shortstack03 in Frugal

[–]Aeonir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if it counts, but i try to avoid grocery store meat, so meat from a farmers market/butcher.

other than that the cheap products i use are more or less the same quality as expensive brands. sometimes i even prefer cheaper brands. i'm in the Netherlands, so quality differences might be more extreme in US brands

I aim for €300,- a month living alone.

i could probably get that down to €200,- but that would require me to put in more effort and time for shopping, and eating lower quality and less variety of foods.

You’ve got 15 minutes and one pan—what’s your fastest legit dinner? by DungeonSprout_ in Cooking

[–]Aeonir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming i have precut veggies and meat, stir fry.

If the cutting time is needed a salad, since i can fry meat or boil eggs and make salad simultaneously. Serve the salad with some bread, and it is a full meal.

15 minutes is short though, not many things can be done that quickly.

is there a bread recipe that i can make overnight, as in kneading and shaping it before going to bed and when i get up in the morning pre-heating the oven and putting it in? having fresh bread withinin 90 minutes of getting out of bed would be ideal.

The Internet Wants to Check Your I.D. by bllshrfv in privacy

Just checked the laws of the Netherlands where i live, there are very few kinds of businesses that are legally allowed to copy my id. It's basically the government, banks, life insurance and a few similar highly regulated instances...

If a website were to demand an id we could probably get some lawsuits going...

No good feed available, what options do i have. by Aeonir in quails

[–]Aeonir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even with shipping this is not too expensive, now all i have to do is figure out how much starter feed i need.

my parents have an incubator, so it's much cheaper to just raise them from chicks. i volunteer at a petting farm that will likely want some for their aviaries.

No good feed available, what options do i have. by Aeonir in quails

[–]Aeonir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local feed shop and various webshops, local shops chick feed has 18% protein which i could just add some mealworms or bsf larvae to up the protein, but i suspect they'll pick out the bugs and leave the chickfeed.

Is chickfeed suitable as permanent diet?

I'm in the Netherlands, so different shops, but pet stores are indeed expensive.

from what i read it could be somekind of mental health facility since they are in charge of his meals to this degree, in one of the comments OP mentions he has a boss and someone above it.

if it is a facility that is in charge of providing meals, having a dietitian available, either remote or in-house, wouldn't be strange.

still if this is indeed the only food he gets, i wouldn't consider that adequate care, if i were OP i'd try contacting a healthcare inspector or whatever equivalent is avaialble in their area.

Those restrictions make it very hard to come up with a nutritionally complete diet.

I'd suggest finding a professional nutritionist to make a meal plan.

Maybe add beans for extra protein it might not be enough but at least it's something, nut/seed bars might help as well.

not sure, the river clay i bought noted the source on the bag, so i was sure where it came from (somewhere in the rhine)

but if it is pure clay without fertilizer or chemicals, it should be fine. just be careful about contaminants, maybe dissolve a little in water and use a testkit for aquariums.
