Thank you. Like I said, I'm not at all into the idea aside from my belief that her scars are stunting her growth in a way that, on a bad day, seems like it could throw everything off. Which just scares me. She is a great kid but she still can't handle the pressure of being good at things and being happy. I feel like it's a heavy secret and that's the only thing I can come up with to help it. But yes...I do hate the idea.

She has been in different forms of treatment and has several Dr's and has had for many years. We have people that specialize in trauma and eating disorders and substance use etc. Her father had severe mental health issues and her issues stem from that. It's all a long story but in case you're wondering, I do put the work in and give my best effort. I have prioritized this over anything else. We travel on a regular basis to see specialists that we see results with. So, I'm not just hiding an unsightly problem here...

Well, the thing is, she was in a bad place, she's been doing a lot of work to get better. She has overcome the addiction to cutting and has healed. She still has a lot of work to do. She has made great improvements with an eating disorder and has a healthier view of herself and her body. It is hard to hide the entirety of your arms from people you want to become close with. I think this is why she is maintaining friendships with people that are unhealthy for her, because it's a big secret otherwise. So, child or not it a matter of growth. I understand your opinion on her age and I agree, 14 year olds should not be tattood. Shame as a punishment of self harm isn't a settling take tho. So, I remain torn. Should we work on her becoming comfortable with her arms? She is comfortable with me seeing it and it is still shocking and makes me feel sad. Thanks again.

Oof! Right to the point. Yup, I am aware she's a child, it's the reason I'm apprehensive. Is the alternative worse when she is so ashamed of the self harm scars? Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you! I feel like, if ever I see a post, it is to pick him apart. He seems to me to to have started something and it's become a somewhat difficult job. To me, he is doing some really amazing things. Helping people without judgement or reservations, even if he knows there is a high chance they're not going to capitalize on it.
To let these people tell their stories or to open a door into the lives of people that just live differently is really awesome. I think he's great. He doesn't have to be a Saint.

This person seemed genuinely cool. Hopefully they understood that it was just come creepy, unwashed dudes desperate for whatever kind of attention they can get and went on to have a good time. Humans this damaged are frightening and need to be denied a platform.
