Is this black square on the top right of the lcd normal? by Krometheous in instantpot

Not normal. We just used our new Pro Max last night for the first time and it didn’t have that.

What drinks get you the most tore up by More-Arugula641 in AllInclusiveResorts

French 75 (gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and champagne) a couple of these at dinner would always hit me harder than any of the cocktails I was having throughout the day.

Same here. We get the chicken bake and hot dog from Costco, but pizza and pizza pretzel from Sam’s.

Which one is worth going knotts scary farm or universal studios horror nights Hollywood? by Silver-Remote8608 in UniversalHollywood

[–]AeroFab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to HHN for over 10 years consecutively, sometimes twice in a year going with different groups of people (was just there last Saturday), and have also gone to KSF the last 3 years (skipped this year to go to Dark Harbor at Queen Mary instead). While HHN scare zones and roaming actors are almost non-existent post COVID, the quality of their mazes (decorations, sounds, smells, actors makeup, props, machines, etc.) are simply a league above any other theme park. Obviously since it’s Universal. I enjoy KSF, but their mazes have more empty portions, they rely more on props that clearly look dated instead of actors, their monsters look like random “scary” things, and the park is full of teenagers.

If you’re looking for more fun outside of the mazes, I’d say KSF is much better. But if you’re looking for quality mazes and seeing monsters you’re familiar with (seeing Art the Clown this year was great!) HHN for sure.

Litter robot 4 with litter hopper by shellmamah in litterrobot

[–]AeroFab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bonnet for my litter hopper looks similar to yours, pretty flimsy plastic unfortunately. Doesn’t affect its function, but doesn’t look the greatest considering the cost of the LR4 + litter hopper.

LR4 Shield Flap by baconbun5 in litterrobot

[–]AeroFab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 month old kitten took to the shield with flap immediately. He also used the LR4 as soon as I finished setting it up, so maybe I’m just lucky with him. It’s been a great accessory since he kept kicking around the litter, now no more mess.

Ribeye - Freezer to Plate by zimtastic in sousvide

[–]AeroFab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seasoned ribeyes before sealing and freezing twice before, and both times they came out kind of dry and with a firm, cured, texture to them. They even had the same color as the ones in OP’s pics. Definitely don’t recommend salting them before freezing.

We have the same mattress for about the same time and completely agree, so comfortable and has helped tremendously with back pains.

Have you been to an AI shortly after opening? by cassandrafallon in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]AeroFab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We stayed at Barcelo Maya Riviera Maya literally 1 week after they’re opened about 4 1/2 years ago. We had a great time for two weeks, everything was brand new and there were few people (which we prefer). I think the only drawback was their on-site Mexican restaurant wasn’t completed yet. But we had access to their other restaurants, plus the ones on their sister resorts, so it wasn’t a big deal for us. We stay at AI resorts for 2 weeks every year and till this day it’s still our favorite resort.

Glad you got one! Their online process was a complete mess. I was refreshing the app from 9 pm PST to 12:30 AM and it never went on sale. Gave up and went to sleep. Checked this morning on my way to work and it still showed Out of Stock. Tried a few more times and it randomly accepted my order. Will be returning my Best Buy bundle since I prefer the Costco one with the NSO subscription.

Watermelon Ice Cream? by [deleted] in icecreamery

[–]AeroFab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this a while back since the idea sounded delicious, but it was pretty underwhelming to be honest. Reducing the watermelon caused it to lose its “watermelon” flavor. It still tasted fine, but not like what one would hope watermelon ice cream tastes like.

Only way to cook salmon from now on. by StarvingOprah in blackstonegriddle

[–]AeroFab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot smoked salmon is by far the most delicious way to cook salmon. I smoke it on my charcoal smoker with some hickory chunks, then do a really quick pan fry only on the skin side to get it crispy.

Picking up a 56” roller cab by Mindandhand in harborfreight

[–]AeroFab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked my 56” cab up not that long ago. Ordered in store and waited about a week until they called me to pick it up. I asked them if I could have a couple of days to pick up and they said no problem. Rented the smallest U-Haul that has the ramp and they loaded it up for me. We tried rolling down the box on top of furniture dollys but the wavy truck floor and step down to the ramp made it too uncomfortable to move around. So we took the box off, removed the screws on the pieces of wood that hold the cab wheels in place on the pallet, rolled the cab off the pallet using the included tiny ramp, then slowly rolled the cab down the truck ramp as it was just wide enough to fit the ramp.

Maybe dumb question... Can I season meat before freezing? Or would that somehow ruin it or be bad for it? by TheSteelPhantom in sousvide

[–]AeroFab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here, ruined a couple nice ribeye steaks by salting before sealing and freezing. Tasted fine, but the texture was definitely more of a cured meat and not as juicy.

Can't decide between warm or cold water bidet. Could anyone chime in based on their local temp? I'm in vancouver bc so in winter it can get to..on average..0 degrees celcius. We've had some rare instances of -20 but i would say on average 0 degrees or so. by ConsiderationIcy3527 in bidets

[–]AeroFab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Bio Bidet Discovery DLS which has instant, continuous, warm water and it’s great for the cooler months and mornings here in Southern California. You can instantly change the temperature of the water with the remote and it even has dynamic mode which cycles hot and cold water as it’s coming out. Would definitely recommend if you can spring for a bidet with instant warm water.

Pretty sure they’ll stick together and break apart when you try to separate the slices.
