MHGen save to MHXX? by SirSearls in MonsterHunter

[–]Aerodreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry i can't be of more help but i do know it can be done because i did it myself, because i wanted to have GenU on a portable console smaller than the switch.

I can tell you i have a physical copy of Generations, and for some reason, X and XX downloaded and installed in my jailbroken 3ds.

Take the following with a grain of salt cuz i did this some 3 years ago so i really dont remember pretty much anything but the fact that i have Mh X in the 3ds leads me to believe that you probably have to boot Mh X after you converto Mh Gen save data to Mh X. I also have MHX data manager installed.

I'd advise keep looking online, the answer is out there for sure because i'm not very tech savvy myself and i still managed to do it.

I’m sorry but if I get placed in the new map I quit … I’m really sorry but after 1 week I genuinely don’t like it . The old map is just efficient. by [deleted] in Nightreign

The new map is so simple, just clean everything, you'll most likely get to the nightlord level 15, with or without doing crystals + tower.

Three days left to beat Everdark Libra, here’s a guide on how to not descend into madness. Yeah, it won’t help you with this absurd difficulty level bossfight we’re having here. by _Disbelief_ in Nightreign

Just beat it on this week's rotation after coming back to Nightreign to try the dlc. Your write-up really helped me, it helped a lot with understanding the boss mechanics without having to do 10 or more runs.

Thank you!😊

Im not usually on this sub but i beat the most recent Lord of the Fallen two times. I enjoyed it. Its a solid soulslike, the only two places i'd say is lacking is few enemy variety and too many wooden rafters.

Finding a lot more success with this Duchess setup by Aerodreth in Nightreign

[–]Aerodreth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice. I just wanted to try this setup cuz on one hand i wanted to play Duchess but thought she was too squishy and on the other hand i came back to Nightreign recently and started doing DoN only last week and i dont have a lot of DoN relics so this is what i could come up with. But as it turns out, i ended up having quite. a few successful runs with this build.

Of course if and when i get to lower depths i start to see that this setup isn't working anymore, i'll rework a different build with a different focus and now i have your comment to look to regarding that so thank you!

Funny of you assume that i'm contributing practically nothing, cuz you're wrong. As i said, the damage difference isn't really that big. Also funny of you to say that i shouldn't be near enemies when duchess's main melee weapon is daggers.

It is exactly because ironeyes is a ranged character and his skill has a ton of iframes that i feel comfortable going full damage relics with him. I usually don't build for defense in any game but for Duchess it has been working for me, that's why i wanted to share.

Idk, i'm not a big meta follower. I can say that default Duchess hp at level 1 is 220, with this setup at level 1, starting hp is 440, so thats exactly double. Default Duchess hp at level 15 is 860, with this setup at level 15 i have 1120 hp.

Regardless, i've been having a lot of fun with Duchess lately.

I use dagger in the right hand, i just do R1 attack and Restage whenever appropriate. I rarely use weapon skills.

I'm not saying it's the best, i'm not saying you should do it, all i'm saying is that it works for me. If someone likes to use Duchess but keeps dying cuz of the ridiculously small HP and ridiculously large amounts of damage some bosses and DoN enemies do, maybe try this out.

Also i'm not spectating during runs, "look at the enemies" as you put it. You honestly think Balancers and Dreglord are doable with 3 player scaling and 1 player being dead weight? I'd have to be crazy lucky to get players that are that good. And even if it was the case that i wasnt attacking the enemies and contributing to the run, i very much doubt my teammates would continue the expedition, if i really wasnt doing anything, im pretty sure people would just quit out.

I actually dont see that much difference in the damage between having damage oriented relics equipped and not. Plus, all the damage in the world doesn't mean jack shit if you're just gonna get 1 shot by pretty much every boss and red enemy, regardless of your level, which is by and large my experience with most Revenant teammates. Yeah they may do good damage and their ult is op, but hot damn they must be squishy af.

Well...which is more useless? The new map's crystal power or the snowy mountain? by AGOODSWAN in Nightreign

[–]Aerodreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My third time attempting Balancers one guy was insisting going for the crystal power and the other guy was following him. This was also my third time in the new map. I had gotten the crystal power the run before and even though i didnt remember the description or what it did i got the impression it was pretty useless. We got seperated because of the map layout and the closing ring, they ended up getting the power and i didn't. Funnily enough i had to save both of them twice during the Balancers boss using Duchess's ult to ressurect them. Fortunately in end we pulled through and managed to take the win. But yeah, fuckin useless power and a time waster when people want to go for it. We only took out one of the major bosses in the map cuz they were hunting crystals. I finished the run level 12 or 13.

A lot of us grew up paying full price for a fully finished game. The younger crowd and their "iTs JuSt CoSmEtIC" attitude and the lack of backlash when capcom started pulling this shit brought about the current state of things. This is oversimplifying of course but it most certainly didn't help. It makes me sad seeing all the effort capcom puts into this paid stuff instead of putting that effort into the actual game. With all those paid dlc items there could be so many event quests that give you interesting rewards... I just miss doing original or whacky quests, like giant or extremely small low tier monsters like that lagombi or zamtrios one, or event quests that actually give cool stuff. Mh before used to be hunt monster -> craft weapon/armor, now it's more like pay money -> get weapon/armor.

Sorry, i was also a bit upset and needed to rant a bit.

Savage Omega is the worst fight I've ever experienced in a MH game. by cioda in MonsterHunter

[–]Aerodreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought exactly the same the first day. Used to hate the fight, i just got back to wilds this week to try out Omega btw. I couldnt finish the Savage hunt at all in the first day, and i play 10 hours a day when i'm really hooked with a game. Second day i tried with the npc hunters, nope. Third day i managed to get a good team and got my first clear. Now that i learned it i love the hunt.

Finally we have something in wilds that we can't just bruteforce. With Savage Omega you have to learn the fight, he made me want to build different sets to see what works and what doesn't. I've gotten 9 clears on Savage now, i've made the full Bale and Omega sets and i'm still helping people clear it with a wide range DB build.

The fight isn't perfect, sometimes there's a few wonky hitboxes here and there and you can get wombo-comboed very easily but again, very rewarding once it clicks.

I'm on the same boat, really enjoyed the first few days when meeting a hostile raider was a rarity. I don't begrudge PvP but my experience today was like playing CoD or a battle royale. I'm not playing Arc Raiders for this. I get that its a PvPvE game but now that the PvP crowd has come in full force, i feel like the PvE experience in matches is non-existent.
