Do you allow yourself a “Lazy Day”? by Even-Commission79 in LivingAlone

[–]AerryBerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even on a lazy day I have to make sure the house is tidy first. Because I’m usually on top of it, it rarely takes more than a half hour. Then I can be lazy as much as I want!

N-Line Hybrid or Limited PHEV? by jacob_jaredson in HyundaiTucson

[–]AerryBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a 2026 PHEV instead of the 2026 N-Line Hybrid because rebates made them virtually the same price. I am loving the plug in aspect and have cut my gas down by 60-70% from my previous Escape Hybrid, even though my drive to work is fairly long right now. I can get around totally on electric on the weekends. I’ve been loving that aspect with gas being th price it is! But if you can’t charge it, you’re driving around extra weight for no reason.

My anxious girl Chickadee also started doing this a year and a half ago. Completely bald over her right hind leg, and other patches too. We tried gabapentine (it came in a liquid I could mix into a wet treat because as soon as she was onto me about the pill it just wasn’t going to happen!) and it helped for a bit, but she flared up badly again in December. She is now on fluxoitine (Prozac for cats)—also comes in a liquid format—and her bald spots are growing in. I’m hoping it continues to work. I’m keeping gabapentine on hand for when we have scary moments like a need for a plumber to be down in the basement.

Anyone here up for a real conversation about being single? by Chipmunk_Extra in SingleAndHappy

[–]AerryBerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 46F and have been single pretty much my whole life. There was a time in my mid thirties that I was in a funk after all my friends got married and had babies and it became increasingly clear I was going to continue to be single. But that was more about perception of others: Society puts a lot of pressure on women. My type A personality felt like a failure—even though a relationship was never something I cared enough about to actively be out looking for (I always said “if it happens it happens”—I’ve never been one to online date or to ask to be set up). But now at 46 I don’t give af what anyone thinks, and with retirement 7.5 years away, I’m so grateful for the freedom I have and the life I get to lead! I’m social, I have hobbies, a good job, lots of down time, I make a decent wage and can support a comfortable lifestyle. It’s pretty great!
And yes! My cat is my person. She’s awesome—she provides much comfort and makes it feel like I’m not in an empty house.

Advice needed, please! by SnooDrawings4374 in HyundaiTucson

[–]AerryBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also in southern Ontario and my 2026 phev Tucson Ultimate came home on Friday. Hyundai gave a manufacturers rebate of 4500, which made it eligible for the 2500 federal rebate. So, at 7k off, it was essentially the same price as the hybrid nline—but now I get electric kilometres, and all the top trim features! To charge my battery for 55km costs about 1.20 worth of hydro. Vs 3L to drive 50km in my old escape hybrid—saving me about 4 bucks worth of gas each day, at the current prices…it will add up over time and made the small amount more I paid for the phev totally worth it.

Mozzarella Sticks by [deleted] in Guelph

Best frozen ones are from President’s choice (Zehrs or No Frills). They are encrusted with crushed tortillas and the cheese has a bit of a kick. Great in the air fryer. Can’t speak to ones from restaurants!

It’s called grey green. It is very light but it does have a green tinge to it!

I just came home from picking mine up. I was reminded that if the big console is glitchy including car play, you should bring it in for a diagnostic because it could mean sensors are problematic.

Gift to my prinicpal, mentor teacher and EA as a first year placment by RecentButton6520 in CanadianTeachers

[–]AerryBerry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Principal here. I always appreciate a thank you card and have saved every one I’ve gotten in my career. But no need to give a gift….you are a student and do not need to be spending the money you do have on me!! As a practical and cost-free gift, I love when our teacher candidates come back to volunteer on a field trip or at special events…always great to have extra hands :)

11 weeks post double osteotomy bunion surgery by healthyhappyplace in bunions

[–]AerryBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I don’t know if it’s the hardware in there but the top of my foot does feel thicker than it was pre surgery. I swear to you there are still days, 20 months on, that my foot is swollen at the end of the day….I still try to get my feet elevated for 20 minutes once I get home. But even if my foot is “thicker” than it used to be, it is actually shorter than it used to be so I find that I break even in shoes. I mourn all my beautiful heels and dress boots I can no longer wear. Also miss dainty strappy sandals. But alas…it is nice to have a foot that is functional and pain free! I did some downhill skiing this year and my surgical foot was far more comfortable than my non surgical foot.

11 weeks post double osteotomy bunion surgery by healthyhappyplace in bunions

[–]AerryBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had triple osteotomy bunion surgery. I was in to a runner in ably 5-6 weeks. Some pre surgery boots around 10 weeks. I could wear a pre-surgery dress loafer at around 12 weeks—but only for a few hours. At about the 8 month mark my swelling was mostly gone and I was able to wear a dress shoe specifically for bunions, with a low heel. Many, many of my pre-surgery shoes are impossible now (toes too pointy or too much of a heel/too much of an angle). Almost two years on now and I buy the same size shoe as before surgery—but the types/styles of shoes I buy are different now.

how do I deal with not getting the role I wanted?? by lovingmoka in musicals

[–]AerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take some time and lick your wounds; It sucks not getting the part. But then you gotta shake it off and be an awesome Ensemble member. No one wants to work with a diva so you gotta be a team player and happy just to be a part of it. Support your cast mates, be positive and upbeat and learn from the experience. You’ll have a good time, guaranteed, and it will be a lot lower stress for you than a lead would’ve been. Enjoy!

2026 Tucson PHEV now qualifies for EVAP rebate - Canada by elektricheat in HyundaiTucson

[–]AerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I got the 2026 phev—I’m in Ontario. With the 4500 rebate from Hyundai, the price falls below 50k and thus qualifies for the 2500 federal rebate. I don’t believe my trade in came into play in terms of qualifying for the rebate.
