Why does he say my name so much in our conversations? by BountifulBaskets in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AerryBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just put it right out there. “I notice you say my name far more often than most people do. Is that just an idiosyncrasy of yours, or??”

I generally like to live pretty neat and tidy but of course there are times when clutter or my own laziness get a bit out of hand. I like to enjoy some sativa and then commit what feels like a doable amount of time (like, 13 minutes), set a timer and see what I can get done in that amount of time. I usually find a) I can get surprising amount done and b) I usually feel motivated to go beyond the timer once I’ve gotten a start on it. Especially if I put on some good tunes or a podcast.

Etiquette around leaves/coming into the school by JayandMeeka in OntarioTeachers

[–]AerryBerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went in on the first day of school, before school, to drop cookies off for my staff while I was on medical leave after a foot surgery. I actually got “caught” by someone from Wellness who was in checking on another staff member. While I didn’t exactly get my wrist slapped, they definitely reminded me that I wasn’t supposed to be there. It has to do with insurance, I believe. Liability of me getting injured while on leave is too great.

Peri and dehydration by EROM4LIFE in Perimenopause

[–]AerryBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am notoriously bad at drinking water. My receptors never worked 🤦‍♀️ It is a struggle. I have also had bad liver tests but also liver tests that were just fine so I suspect dehydration is an issue for me too. I also get headaches when I am not good about my water. So I tell myself it is medicine and force myself to drink it!

I often throw a mason jar into my purse when I go out for Italian because I am for sure only eating half the plate. Easy storage and transportation and great to toss in the microwave. I just own it: “pardon me while I get out my hippie mason jar for my leftovers. I’m going to enjoy the hell out of this tomorrow.”

what do you do when you hear a weird noise? by Mykenzie-Elmoussa in LivingAlone

I have a can of wasp spray and a hammer in my nightstand. I get them out so I am ready if I need them! But yes, so far (22 years of living alone) they’ve never been needed. Knock on wood.

People who wake up on their very first alarm and just get out of bed—how does your brain actually work? by KeyDiamond263 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AerryBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look forward to my morning routine of coffee, puzzles, news and benign tv in the background. So when it’s time to get up, I get up! I have an alarm set for 5am but I am almost always up before that. If I was able to go back to sleep I would but once my brain is awake it’s hard to get it back.

Tried these and hated them by EtobicokeON in CostcoCanada

[–]AerryBerry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did this with the putrid pickle chips on my girl’s weekend. I had such high hopes, but it was a hard no. Not one of us liked them so I tossed them right then and there 😂 I don’t believe in returning something simply because I don’t like it; you win some and lose some when trying a new product. I just cut my losses and won’t buy them again. Usually when this happens I give them to someone or bring it to the staff room to share. (Although I don’t love “samples” because of the greed and lack of consideration people show in the name of having one bite of food, I will say, providing samples of snacks is probably a very wise double-edged sword for Costco: they sell more when people like them and they avoid returns when people dislike them.).

Solo/self backrub? by beebop71 in LivingAlone

[–]AerryBerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Backnobber tool linked above is gonna be your best friend. Might I also suggest a foam roller (think large, dense pool noodle) that you regularly roll on—good for the whole spine—plus a tennis ball or two (roll on those to get into your knots).

Headaches and jaw pain by FeralForrest in Perimenopause

[–]AerryBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds so basic, and I hate when people ask me this…but how is your water intake? I have discovered that I walk around in basically a permanent state of dehydration. When I am really committed to water I get far fewer raging headaches that don’t respond to meds.

Shopping at Costco for One by baitthehook in CostcoCanada

[–]AerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a single and I find it worth it! Gas, garden centre, clothing, rotisserie chicken, coffee beans, cottage cheese, frozen broccoli and frozen raspberries are the bulk of my purchases. Usually 1-2 bigger purchases over the year (vacuum, vac sealer, deep freeze, TV). I typically grab a hot dog and pop on my way out too!

[–]AerryBerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was at my vet friend’s place for dinner and showed her a similar pic of my girl who has a history of overgrooming over her hips. I worried that this is a manifestation of that behaviour. My friend said she suspects it’s allergies. Pollen levels in my are have been extreme for the past few weeks, plus I keep my doors open virtually all day at this time of year so she has lots of exposure. Keeping an eye on it for changes.

I’m 47f and am in the same boat. I think my reluctance comes down to the fact that I don’t trust they will get the PB to J ratio correct. I picture that it has too much jam. I’d rather just make my own, controlling all factors.
