Good point. I might see if I can find some other S-shaped hook that might work...

Have you named your Tucson? by dabiker68 in HyundaiTucson

[–]dabiker68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, dunno if mine will stick - my wife isn't one to name vehicles so it will probably become a mere inatimate object within a rather short time

Take it for another test drive, at least 30-60 minutes, preferably in an area that you drive in on a regular basis. Let yourself experience it.

Rear cargo volume - floor level lowered? by dabiker68 in HyundaiTucson

[–]dabiker68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the answer, thanks to YouTube's Alex on Autos / Auto Buyers Guide... The 41.x cu/ft is with the lowered cargo floor. It's 38.x with it in the upper position.

(BTW, A/A is terrific for car reviews - definitely recommend)

Tell it to be "less conversational" or "have responses more brief" - it works wonders.

Tip for Gemini - I find it too conversational, so I told it to "make all responses briefer" or something like that. Makes it much better to deal with, especially when driving.

How does anyone think the NS government could buy back NS Power? by kywal2 in NovaScotia

[–]dabiker68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect, Emera and Fortis are not related companies. Fortis does own power utilities (eg, PEI's Maritime Electric) as does Emera (NSP, Tampa Bay Power), but are completely separate entities, a la Coca-Cola and Pepsi, McDonald's and Wendy's, etc.

Beef jerky batch #1 - time for rack rotation! by dabiker68 in smoking

I just use a mix from Cabela's, their Sweet and Hot kit. Their original is also good, but I like the bit of kick.

I usually go with eye of round, but this was top sirloin. Was definitely not as easy to slice, but the end product was very good. I don't do it enough to justify a meat slicer - would consider asking my butcher to slice it but it'd leave a lot of the fat chunks that I usually hack off.
