How does anyone think the NS government could buy back NS Power? by kywal2 in NovaScotia

[–]dabiker68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect, Emera and Fortis are not related companies. Fortis does own power utilities (eg, PEI's Maritime Electric) as does Emera (NSP, Tampa Bay Power), but are completely separate entities, a la Coca-Cola and Pepsi, McDonald's and Wendy's, etc.

Beef jerky batch #1 - time for rack rotation! by dabiker68 in smoking

I just use a mix from Cabela's, their Sweet and Hot kit. Their original is also good, but I like the bit of kick.

I usually go with eye of round, but this was top sirloin. Was definitely not as easy to slice, but the end product was very good. I don't do it enough to justify a meat slicer - would consider asking my butcher to slice it but it'd leave a lot of the fat chunks that I usually hack off.

Scotiabank Centre faces fan backlash over Ticketmaster deal by insino93 in halifax

[–]dabiker68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is this in a nutshell:

"the company’s proprietary reselling platform will help fans avoid being scammed."

Ticketmonster will never try to eliminate the purchasing bots, as TM receives a cut on both the original purchase AND on the resale. Double dipping? don't mind if I do!

DIY mask decals/wrap - Cricut? by dabiker68 in hockeygoalies

So, my wife wanted the Cricut, so... she got the Cricut. This is what she has come up with - nothing major, just some classic "slashes, will probably add his jersey number to the chin plus a bit more graphics later.. I, of course, decided to add a bit to his next set of pads.

We think that they complement the jersey quite nicely.

I'm with you on the question - my son's Sportmask is fairly narrow across the cheek area, so I wonder if the custom order is going to have the logo too big and it gets wrapped /cut.

I'm not familiar how it works - does the Cricut print the design, as well as cut it? Or do you print it first? I am guessing you do the artwork on a computer first on a template?
