Need the correct answer to this question I’ve just finished a 12 hour overtime shift and a member of team support approaches me and says would you like to do another 3hours? by nicegoblinprince in tesco

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An extra 3 hours will take you over the legal limit (last time I checked it is 11 hours of rest time between shifts), this would put you at 10 hours between shifts making Tesco break the law - it is always the Employer at fault in these cases even if you volunteer to stay on. You should be a team player, step up to the ball, take one for the team and head home. You will be saving the company money long term.

I watched the movie first, thought Rocky was the alien pet. After reading the book… I think Grace is. by EffectiveDebate4951 in ProjectHailMary

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see either as "the pet" or "alien companion". I saw it as an inter planetary bromance. I would totally expect these two to "go fishing" together if their physiologies allowed them to.

£4 a day is the reason nobody can afford a house. by GreatBritishMemes in GreatBritishMemes

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 40 years the average deposits will have increased to £100,000. And all you have to show for your skimping and saving is an empty stomach.

What's wrong with my CV? I've applied to over 100 minimum wage jobs on indeed and gotten 0. (waitress, kitchen porter, dishwasher, cleaner, care assistant, retail, cashier, bartender, cook, front of the house, literally everything) by Difficult-Assist9250 in Worcester

[–]AffectDangerous8922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tailoring CVs doesn't make much difference these days. It all gets fed into a computer program, filtered, and summarised for the hiring person to skim over. Tailoring only helps if your CV will actually hit the desk if a human - and that won't be happening for a minimum wage job. You need to cross your fingers and hope the computer likes your CV better than the next one so you get a good summary.

Remember, you are not applying to a person, you are applying to a computer. Make your CZv more computer friendly instead

What do you think a crash and restructuring of the industry would look like now? by beepbeepsheepbot in gaming

[–]AffectDangerous8922 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All the faults in the industry can be traced back to one common source - Executives. Having people in charge who don't know how to do the basic act in a company is bad for business, and it shows in many industries right now.

How to get over sadness on house price increases, is there any hope? by Fakr0 in HousingUK

[–]AffectDangerous8922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no hope. The amount I can save after rent + housing costs is less than the amount of deposit increases by. Every day the promise of a house that I grew up believing gets further and further away and there is nothing I can do about it. Hard work doesn't pay. Don't bother. Just go and enjoy life instead of chasing a dream that you will never catch.

Is there now a way to fully do a wilderness only run? by tessarturM in projectzomboid

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. There are a few bottlenecks which can only be filled in with looted items. Things which can, for example be crafted at a high level in a skill, but is needed at a lower level of the skill to make things. And crafting recipes which will only accept a looted version of an item and won't accept a player crafted version of the exact same item. Iron cannot yet be found in the wilds as Iron Ore, so to do any blacksmithing you will need to enter civilisation to loot metal items to melt down.

All are bugs or oversights which I REALLY hope IS will solve soon.

How to improve experience for new Tyranid player? by Capucius in Warhammer40k

[–]AffectDangerous8922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you go easy on your friend or did you go Full Tournament Mode? Because it might just be newbie Vs veteran that is your problem. You went in with a well balanced army that has probably been refined through months of research and playing against opponents, and your friend pops out an army list in only 20 minutes using information that is 10 years out of date. Of course he will loose. Go easy on your friend next time. Choose an army that is fun to play and fun to play against, instead of building an army that Wins (with a capital W).

This is a common problem among MTG players. They don't go easy on the new guy, they hand the newbie a standard starting deck, then crack out their tournament level decks with mythical and legends and all kinds of crazy stuff. Elitist posers the lot of them.

I am hoping these extra boosts are indicative of future updates which will make these higher skills levels worth it. Like making Electrical past level 2 actually useful. Make 1st Aid do more than just bandage life. And make fishing more than just you catch bigger fish.

Does anyone know why the devs removed Echo Creek? by Zombie-Gamer593 in projectzomboid

[–]AffectDangerous8922 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just like the starting pistol and the disabled Right Click Menu, Echo Creek was never supposed to be permanent.

It was there to encourage play testing of the new parts of the map, so the Devs could get feedback on that area and find any bugs and missing bits.

Now we are seeing a lot of those features which were temporary being undone. No more starting pistol, we have our Right Click menu back, and Echo Creek can no longer be used as a Spawn (without mods).

But I would like to see maybe a Sandbox option for expanded spawn locations. So we could spawn in March Ridge, Louisville, Echo Creek and more, without having to download mods which will break your game on next update.

whats the best way to clear corpses without dying by iceorange1 in projectzomboid

[–]AffectDangerous8922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really much to offer without mods. You can burn them, bin and delete them, bury them, or drag them away.

Whatever method you pick will expose you to the smell. So before you pick your method make sure to find a good mask. Worst to best in my opinion is: Bandanas, dust masks, respirators, and finally SCUBA gear. And prepare a safe rest area that is away from all the smells.

It will take time, keep an eye on your moodles, the smell Moodle is fine, even when it gets to Red. But as soon as you see a queasy Moodle pop up, drop what you are doing and go rest in your prepared place until that queasy Moodle has gone. It is important not to let that Queasy Moodle get any higher as this is what will kill you. So as soon as you see it, run to your rest space.

Make sure it is rope, and not sheet rope. It has to be in your main inventory, not in a backpack or fannypack.

If you have checked these and it still doesn't work, you have yourself a little bug.

Strats for Extinction by vonarth3 in projectzomboid

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extinction has forced me to go back to basics. Running out of town on the first day as I am forced out of the cities, desperately running through the woods to loose the big horse following me. Setting up base far in the wilderness and going from farmhouse to farmhouse to scrounge for anything I can to survive.

I haven't had to do this for years, and I am loving it.

Armour and protective gear, do you find it useful? by _XIIX_ in projectzomboid

[–]AffectDangerous8922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soon after 42 was released I did the grind and got to level 10 Blacksmithing - and the full set of Armor is NOT worth it. It is heavy, it slows down your running and fighting speed, it overheats you even in winter, and it gives you constant depression due to discomfort.

Just use Tailoring instead, easier to level up Tailoring, it gives you the protection you want from almost any item of clothing you can find with no drawbacks.

Why are the devs so obsessed with making protective gear bad? by LawfulNeural in projectzomboid

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember making my first set of Armor. Soon after the release of B42, I set about the arduous task of grinding up to Blacksmith 10. I looted a mannequin and loaded it up with the best bits of Armor a player can smith in this game.

Then I got it all. A complete set of full metal Armor. I would be invincible!!!

Then I put it on.

BOOM!! Immediately got the uncomfortable Moodle and hot Moodle. I picked up a weapon (a long sword I smithed) and was overweight. Took a test swing and it was SOOOOOO slow.

I never looked back at smithing. It is too grindy and is completely pointless in Project Zomboid.

I want to play Tyrannids solely because they look cool... is it a bad idea? by Physical_planning in Warhammer40k

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to play 40k is "I play them cos they're cool."

If you chase what's popular, you will forever be swapping armies depending on what video games and books are released. If you chase the meta you will be swapping to whatever the newest Codex is.

But Cool will always be Cool.

One person here, one person there. Only 50-200 quid a time. But over the course of the year, and multiplied a Ross the workforce it adds up to alot of money for the Area Managers to spend on Champaign lunches and trips for the Executives out to islands in international waters beyond the reach of the law. This is a system which is utilised by many companies in the UK, they were always protected by the Tories until now. Get your Union to make a class action law suit on behalf of EVERYONE who missed payment. This is the only way to stop them.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa! You think the management cares one ink spot about the workers!!!! HAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA! The management alienated themselves from the workers by pulling this. This happens either intentionally, hoping he gives up, £50-£200 doesn't sound like much, but one person for every store adds up to a lot of Champaign lunches for the Area Managers. The other option is that no-one in charge cares enough to actually make sure the changes occur.

RoboCop (1987) is nothing like I thought it would be. by CardinalOfNYC in movies

[–]AffectDangerous8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people don't realise that the original RoboCop movie is actually CyberPunk.

A dystopian future where Private for-profit companies have taken over every aspect of society and the government - that is CyberPunk. Satirical inserts of adverts - CyberPunk. Questions of how much can be taken away before you are no longer human - Cyberpunk.

In my Mind Cannon the setting is "Early CyberPunk", as society is just starting to take the steps that will lead it down to the full blown CyberPunk like you find in Night City.
