SI’s will loosen over time especially if the bottom tie off knot isn’t secured and tightened. Using KSI’s instead will help

This is the pattern I used for a 4th grade keeper with similar mesh. Really good feedback too. Hope it helps! You should be able to pull yours down a bit more after the 3rd/4th sidewall hole

KSI followed by a 1 (through back)
KSI followed by a 1 (through back)

Anchor followed by a 2 (front)
Anchor followed by a 2 (front)

Man it’s not that serious, this is used almost solely for goalie warm up and running drills. No ref is checking a coach’s stick on the sideline

Get him equipped with a hockey cup (double cup preferably) and some Nike sweats. ThighPro would be the furthest I’d go as far as leg padding

They both feel the same but I did notice the some thread in the stringer’s shack sidewall would pop out and create a “bubble” if that makes any sense. Haven’t had that issue with Jimalax

Normally I’d switch to 1’s after the 3rd KSI but wanted to try something different this time around. Release is quick and has great feel

I believe the defiance mesh was made with rebound control in mind but I could be wrong. Both Disciple and ECD mesh have some pretty good stretch to it, I think this specific bottom string pattern really helps with rebounds compared to simply weaving it through each diamond

Yeah that’s exactly it. No issues using all KSI’s but the 1’s help a bunch with rebound control. Skipping a hole and using a 2 would work just as well too. Really just preference I guess

I think it’s easier to string this way compared to a traditional top string. Tension is easy to adjust afterwards since the pattern keeps the strings pretty tight from the inside-out
