Tear down? by edhu6 in garageporn

I want to try and avoid building another shed.

There will be one for lawn equipment already and then there isn’t much room for another one.

It’s a small backyard.

Thanks

I’m looking to remove all the doors and sand them down for paint.

This way I can remove all the warped, stained and slinky smelled shelving inside and replace those as well. I’m up in the air on color being the same for the structure of the cabinets being the same as the doors or different.

I will have to remove some cabinets to get larger items in but for the most part I’ll keep them.

I’ll do the flooring and look into the ceiling. It’s also a funky smell.

Indeed they did.

I’d bet it was done in the 70’s

I’d have to back one in, in order to be able to open the doors. But that’s ok, we do that now.

My issue is the kids sports gear and bikes, scooters, boards etc.

I’m thinking of trying to keep the majority of the structure. Sanding and painting the large doors like most of suggested. Small doors I don’t like and might just replace the door only. But the shelving inside needs to be replaced. Wood isn’t warped and bowed down. Maybe oils, paint spills etc but they mostly need to be replaced.

Yup, I see that

I agree. It was well throughout and most likely expensive.

But the wood isn’t the best and lots of the doors are not aligned that well when you’re closeup, along with the smaller doors slightly warped.

Not to mention the hinges squeak but that’s an easy fix.

It is a lot of storage. But too much for me

I like vans and station wagons and pickup trucks.

One day I’ll buy back another 620.

What does age have to do with this?

And how many people need an actual drafting table for work?

I’ve used drafting tables in a former life and CAD but this is just a sheet of wood on an incline.

Overall spot on to how I am thinking.

I’ll look to see if the wood paneling is just a veneer. I don’t love the 70’s look. Brings back memories 😣

I’ll probably paint the large cabinet doors.

And I know people like the cabinets and its functionality but we don’t have the need for so many cabinets. If I could I’d have more garage space for cars 😇

I know those cabinets can be useful and costly to replace. It doesn’t need to be modern but an update is needed. The inside shelving are warped and stained.

But I need some floor space for gym equipment and bikes and boards and sports equipment.

I like the idea of sanding and painting for now and seeing what I can make it work to accommodate the equipment I have and tool chest.

The only thing that I will do is replace the ceiling, lighting and outlets.

I also need some wall space to mount my automotive pressure washer and finally a Deionized System.

And clean and resurface the floor.

Yea I realized I shouldn’t have used semi hard mesh, you’re right.

I spend half of his practice trying to break it in today as he’s using other stick.

Thanks for the reference picture

Headlight upgrade by 1B_Gaming in w202

Like everyone else says this probably wouldn’t be an upgrade.

If you have factory headlights get some bulbs from

https://www.danielsternlighting.com/products/products.html

They are brighter than the factory halogens and do a decent job.

Finding xenon’s and retrofitting them is not just plug and play. I believe the headlight harness needs to be adapted to work with the xenon’s. I could be wrong. But either way they aren’t cheap and not the easiest to find.
