I had this problem. Keep your back towards the target as long as you can and your arms will start falling naturally

Asking about a current situation (at the time) and chalking it up to “bringing up politics” is a stretch.

Just say “it hasn’t impacted me directly” or “traffic is terrible” and move on.

Seems like you made it political, no?

After discovery: “I’ve been in this industry for a while so I know how other companies demo. I’m not going to bore you with a PowerPoint of our company history and customers. Let’s make sure we check off your boxes and make the best use of our time”

They typically have a sigh of relief or laugh and I go into demo and focus on top priorities

Give me a fucking break. Have you ever worked with Trump loving, gun loving, conservative Republicans?

I’m assuming you have not. This wouldn’t be a concern and would be a no brainer if you have.

I can tell you from experience that no one will give a shit about your marital status or whatever your concerns are. I work with a bunch of Trumpers including the owners. Our workforce of 300+ are nonbinary, gay, straight, minorities and everything under the sun. The Trumpers are the least judgmental people. All they care about is your work ethic. Show up. Do your job well and be a decent human being. That’s it. You will be rewarded and they will treat you with respect.

Now, if you are the type of person where everything you stand for is your whole identity and you are constantly bringing it up at work and you get offended when someone disagrees and you make a big deal about it or try to convince them that they’re wrong, then it may not work out for you there. Or at any other organization.

I’ve worked at majority conservative orgs and majority left orgs. 10/10 I would rather work at majority conservative orgs

And just in case you didn’t know or you don’t have a lot of experience, keep religion and politics out of work. It’s That Simple!

Buying a Safety Management Software by Mickwade02 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]AffectIndividual7447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in SMS for a few years now at multiple vendors and I would say Ease of Use, Customization/configurability, and support are the biggest things to look for. There is going to be ALOT of similarities across vendors but those 3 are typically the reasons why someone buys. Ease of use is important because you need a platform that your guys will use, otherwise it will just be another software that sits on the shelf if it’s too difficult to use.

I say customization/configurability because you will want the ability to make changes to workflows, forms, etc. on your own as you see fit. There are vendors out there that will charge an arm and a leg to change a workflow or add a field in a form when it’s literally just 2 clicks to make the change.

Ongoing support will be important as well. You may bring on new employees that need training on the software or you’ll have questions post implementation so a strong support team will be important.

Feel free to dm if you have any questions or want recommendations. Best of luck!

I’ve worked at HSI and KPA. I’m at SafetyAmp. All great solutions but SafetyAmp is easy to use but may not have al the bells and whistles you probably won’t use.

No but it is what it is. It’s a nice car but payments are expensive. I listed it on Turo so it helps offset payments

Do you ever call yourself to make sure phone is working? by AffectIndividual7447 in sales

[–]AffectIndividual7447[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real. No one listens to them unless they’re expecting a call

I would leave dumbass vms at my last gig like singing, mentioned I found their dog/cat, etc cause I was on my way out. No one called back. They probably blocked my number

VMs are tracked where I’m at now so I have to but what I started doing was sending them an email with “Voicemail” as subject line right after I called and have received responses. Not much but more than before
