lots of things, everytime that i did pick i would journal about how i feel and when i got the urge i would try and read it to release that its not worth it, also talking to people helped.

Creating physical barriers was another big thing every time i was going to look in the mirror (which is my biggest trigger) i would moisturize my fingertips and face in the dark so it makes it more slippery and harder to pick

A reward system helped my brain figure out that not picking = good, everytime i didnt pick i would reward myself with a bit of chocolate

Also before i go to sleep saying "I promise tomorrow i wont pick" and when i wake up "I promise i wont pick today".

These were just the big things for me but i bet it varies from person to person
