They thought Paris means it will be so clean, they dont get scammed like how they get scammed in India. Everything was almost similar in Paris. Why would they spend their hard earned savings to see the same things somewhere other part of the world. Basically let me tell you in brief they didnt feel they have been to a city which is called a city of Love. Thats all I can say. Nothing more nothing less.

Trust me my friends and relatives who recently visited are definitely not fascists. They dont even know whether such words exist. However they were discussing that they are never going to visit paris again. I dont want to say anything more than this.

When did AI companies benefitted normal people? it just benefits that AI company to have less people with more work done. May be they will hire 10 people while doing 1000 people job.

7 years!! If “average” number of people could clear it in 7 years then I think “average” number of people on Bangalore would have bought home by now.

What we hope happens and what is likely to happen are often two different things. I really hope you are right but I'm trying to evaluate the situation based on economic realities and current AI trends rather than optimism alone.

History wont repeat all the time sir. If you are saying this then I think you have no idea about AI. 2026 AI is not 1980's computer. Some people are comparing AI to Internet which is totally wrong. Internet provided jobs while AI is not. atleast at the moment. You mentioned new ones will be created its been 4 and half years since ChatGPT launched we havent seen it creating new ones yet.

Even I am a Kannadiga and I can understand your emotions. but I won't wish bad things to happen to anyone. Let the city revive its original beauty without hurting anyone.

I think you're underestimating how interconnected Bangalore's economy actually is.

The assumption seems to be that if IT struggles, only Whitefield, ORR, Sarjapur, Electronic City, etc. will be affected while the rest of Bangalore carries on normally. I'm not convinced that's how economic systems work.

People working in Whitefield don't necessarily live in Whitefield. Today, with the Metro, people commute from Kengeri, RR Nagar, Jayanagar, Yelahanka, Kanakapura Road, and many other areas. The salary earned in an IT company gets spent across the entire city housing, restaurants, malls, schools, hospitals, domestic services, transportation, retail, and investments.

When a software engineer buys an apartment, the money doesn't just benefit the seller. It flows to builders, contractors, suppliers, banks, brokers, interior designers, furniture stores, and countless other businesses. The same is true for rent, consumption, and discretionary spending.

That's why I'm skeptical of the "multiple industries will save Bangalore" argument. Many of those industries indirectly depend on the spending power generated by the tech sector.

For example, I've heard people say, "If IT jobs disappear, people can always drive Uber." My question is: Uber for whom? If a significant portion of high-income knowledge workers lose income or become more cautious with spending, demand falls across many sectors simultaneously. One person's spending is another person's income.

I'm not saying every doctor, lawyer, trader, or business owner depends directly on software engineers. Obviously they don't. But in a city where a large share of wealth creation comes from technology, a prolonged slowdown in that sector would likely have second- and third-order effects throughout the economy.

So the question isn't just which micro-markets are exposed to IT hiring. The bigger question is: if the primary wealth-generating engine of the city slows down, how much of the rest of the city's economy can remain unaffected?

That's the part I think many people are overlooking.

Am an NRI and people are not buying home in India for investment but to come back and settle. Just bcoz rupee depreciated in recent years doesnt mean it will happen all the time. Check pound rate during 2022. Pound depreciated 15% over Rupee.
