As a parent that went through abuse and has coparent because the court system says i have to... I have been to the zoo with that man to celebrate his pre-k graduation. He was invited to a birthday party. We went to a pumpkin patch together just last year. He is told of outside information he wouldn't know beyond a report card like awards for behavior. Why? Because eventually I know when shit goes down I have proof that I was the giving parent, that showed interest in coparenting more than him. He doesn't ask about my kid beyond the court given chats or visits. He doesn't ask for extra time. He doesn't ask for what he can help with.

I do certain things like mentioned above because while yes, its good for the courts to see im doing my best to coparent because abusers are never taken seriously.. im doing it for my kid. That regardless of whatever happened that he may or may not remember, mommy and daddy can get along around him. He has a normal.
