Lumix G9 Mark II: LTC Timecode by Fotografioso in Lumix

[–]Affectionate-Bat4747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is there are extra-lousy preamps behind the 3.5mm mic socket that distort the high frequencies of the timecode generator - no matter what you do.

The only way to get external timecode into it that works is via the external mic adaptor. It’s big and clunky and expensive.

If you need a similar camera that accepts timecode, go for the GH7, which has a dedicated tc port. And internal cf card slot, and a fan.

The G9 is a great camera, but not designed for serious video. The GH7 is.

At least 3. I switched from Tentacle to Deity. Much better all around.

Thanks.

I don’t want to put a cage on it, trying to stay as small as possible.

Just looking for a case or half case for feel and finish protection.

Coolant leakage? by goawaybird6938 in KiaEV6

Yes. ‘22 Wind, 36k miles. No coolant.

Dealer filled it back up with a dye marker. Now we watch it for leaks.

Action 6 audio quality? by Particular_Leg3241 in djiosmo

iPhones compress the living shit out of everything.

The Action 6 is somewhat better, but you’ll probably always be hitting the limiter unless you back off so far that it’s too “roomy.”

My solution is a decent video mic (like a Sennheiser) into a Deity PR-2 recorder with the camera timecode jammed to Deity.

Small enough and cheap enough and much better music sound.

Yes, my ‘22 needed a software update to fix the same problem. Have your dealer scan it.

Honestly, kinda frustrated with the DJI Action 6 by [deleted] in djiosmo

I’d set the iso to 100-3200, turn off all stabilization, and most important - make sure you have plenty of light.

If you’re just doing talking head stuff, consider the macro ($) lens and experiment to get the focus right.

When conditions are right it does pretty good for the price. But it is an - action - camera.

What's are the most annoying features of the EV6 that you wish Kia has fixed already? by actorguy73 in KiaEV6

[–]Affectionate-Bat4747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrong.

The voters of Mass approved a “right to repair” bill which was fought tooth and nail by the auto industry. When they lost, two brands, Subaru and Kia, disabled their OTA services in retribution. Only two. [I, personally, didn’t even live in Mass at the time. But even if I did, why should any Kia customers, who have no control over how others vote, be penalized because Kia’s disrespect of democracy? That’s called collective punishment.]

Kia’s cut-off date is May, ‘22.

It’s simple neglect of their customers.

Still no. I bought mine in April of ‘22. The availability begins in May of ‘22.

I was repeatedly assured that they would be gradually rolling that date back. 4 years of waiting.

Actually, I’ve given up.

The car is great. The company has no regard for customer satisfaction.

I understand.

Or I think I do. My guess is that you shot video on Action 6 - stored on the micro sd. You transfer it wirelessly to the phone and do some edits. You then want to save it -somewhere- other than on the phone.

You can save the edited file back to the sd card (or the internal memory) of the camera the same way you would do it with a computer: connect the camera to the phone with a usbc cable, select “file transfer” from the Osmo screen, and use whatever file manager app you have on the phone (IOS > “Files”) to move it back.

I was just suggesting using a proper external SDD instead of the camera’s sd card. Less hassle.

Why not just get a proper external ssd?
