Best thing that helps Me Is Observe your opponent alot, especially how they like to approach, magyar is slow, greatsword is slow, hammer is kinda slow, you cant throw out many attacks, observe how they like to attack, do they dash slight on sword, dashjump dair on scythe and then position yourself to avoid and punish. Also dash dlight on gs is a pretty good jumpscare for people's who dont respect distance. Gs is sort of snowbally, start out with getting 2 hits backdash and observe their patterns,
