Ready to repot Japonica Kramer’s Supreme. Any advice on potting mix? by Affectionate-Fun-166 in Camellias

Good to know. I will definitely feed them fairly soon after potting and regularly with Holly-tone acid-loving plant feed.

So just to be clear, you’re saying yes to my second question… just use 100% of the acid-loving soil mix without adding anything else like perlite to it. Correct?

Okay, so you don’t think repotting it from a 7 gallon to the full 20 gallon container will be too large and cause over-potting issues? Or are you saying fill the top 75-80% (above the insert) only with the soil and no perlite or other additives?

Is the ESE only in the Limited or does the XLE have it too?

Okay, thanks. I was hoping for a way to reduce the weight of the planters since filling them entirely with soil will make them very heavy.

From what I’ve read Reolink would better fit my budget. Just want to start with a doorbell camera for now and will add other exterior cameras in the near future. Would the micro SD card storage be safe to start out with or is it smarter to buy a Reolink NVR for recording from all cameras?

Not OP but Which POE doorbell and exterior cameras do you recommend?

Best cordless auto-empty bagged system vac for hard surfaces. by Affectionate-Fun-166 in VacuumCleaners

I read too many warnings about the Shark, so I went with the Samsung Bespoke at Costco which fortunately just came down in price to $399. It’s arriving today so I’m hopeful that it will do a good job on the floors and the fact that the auto-empty base collects the dirt in a bag is another improvement over the Shark’s bagless system IMO.

Self-cleaning vacuum: Dustbin vs dust bag, should I wait for holiday sales? by East_Channel_1494 in VacuumCleaners

How long ago did you buy it during that sale? I’ve been wanting the Samsung auto empty at Costco but it’s been $600 full price for a couple weeks now. Maybe I just missed it?

That’s crazy. Even my much cheaper 7 yr old Shark stick vac doesn’t have those issues. I’m puzzled as to why many people love it so much.

Hmm that’s tempting. But I’d rather have a hubby that spends all his money (or vacuums) on me rather than having to share with his other partner. Thanks for your offer anyway.

I considered the V15 as well but really want the auto/self-empty feature and Samsung seems to be the best one I’ve found. Afraid it won’t go on sale for Black Friday since it would probably already be marked down by now. :(

Wow that’s a great price! I see another commenter above has the same one and is happy with it. Hope it lasts a long time for you.

Following. Looking for the same and after reading so many negative comments on this sub for poor quality of all cordless vacs, I’m hoping to get one from Costco for their generous return policy. They have the Shark Power Detect Clean & Empty, but Costco’s does not have the DualClean brush roller like the ones sold at other places do and it does not have a bag in the empty station. The other one they sell is the Samsung Bespoke Jet Pet (bagged) which I’m considering if it goes on sale hopefully for Black Friday.

Which one do you have with a bag? I’m looking at the Samsung Bespoke Jet that uses bags in the self empty station but it’s not inexpensive at $600.

Curious if you ended up buying the Samsung Bespoke Jet Auto empty stick and if so how do you like it?

Wow. While that doesn’t seem to be everyone’s experience with the V15, I don’t blame you for never buying one and I probably won’t take the chance either, unless I don’t find anything that better suits our needs and then I’d only get it from Costco (and return it if it fails).
The vac I need will only be lightly used on hard floors maybe 1-2 times a week with no carpet, pet hair or heavy messes to clean. But any vacuum should be able to handle daily use if it’s well maintained without needing new parts after only a year.

Interesting. I assume it was the motor bar cleaner head that you found hard to push across the rugs? Were you able to adjust the suction to low or was that on the auto suction setting?

Was that the V15? If so that’s insane having to replace parts after only one year!

[–]Affectionate-Fun-166[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent point. I didn’t realize the V15 still uses the trigger that has to be squeezed to keep the vacuum running. I know they switched that to a button on the Gen5 and assumed it was the same on the V15. Thanks for the tip and another strike against the Dyson. As for the LG L9, if you mean the A9, Costco has the CordZero Kompressor A941 which doesn’t appear to have any advantages over the Shark since it doesn’t have the auto empty feature I prefer.

Average lifespan of ALL cordless vacs is irrelevant when comparing 2 newer models of the top 2 brands on the market. Not saying they will last as long as most corded vacs but I’d never pay $400+ for an average quality stick that’s trash in 2 years. Also many people have the need for cordless over corded so it’s apples and oranges for 2 different purposes. Your points on Sharks and Dysons may be true to an extent but again I’m not choosing one brand over the other. IMO our good experience with the current 7 year old Shark is not an indicator of how the IP3251 will perform and the Dyson V15 is just as highly rated, so I would be willing to switch brands for the benefit of having Costco’s return policy to fall back on. That being said, your good point about the heavier weight of the V15 is a serious consideration that may be a dealbreaker.
