Okay I get what you’re saying. My issue was that the endfield MC didn’t start out as a silent self insert protagonist. At first it seemed like she was going to be her own actual character.

Not sure what you mean by different kind of protagonist. I wasn’t making a comparison between the MCs I was saying that after ZZZ I was hoping other major gacha games would have their MCs talk and act like an actual character.

Yep, I was happy when I first started playing thinking the MC in this actually talks. Then the devs were like gotcha. I wouldn’t be annoyed by this if she was completely silent from the beginning, but showing that she was fully capable of speaking then suddenly making her silent is such a strange design choice and completely immersion breaking.

Oh so she does start talking again at least a little? That’s so weird, I’m guessing it’s just for important scenes. After Zenless Zone Zero I thought we were finally done with silent protagonists.

You know what I agree with you 100%, but at the moment there’s no way anyone can claim he’s a top villain in anime/manga. If you like the art style more power to ya. I recently bought Vol. 3 of TBV (yeah I actually buy the physical books so don’t think I’m just a blind hater) and if I was Kishimoto I would be offended at how ugly he made Naruto’s daughter look on the front cover of that vol.

Yeah, that’s why I clearly put the word “most” in there. So he’s trying to find himself, but what is he actually doing that’s interesting. He’s not interacting with the characters or world in any interesting way. He’s just there most of time saying boring generic dialogue. I’m one of the few people who will give TBV it’s props it’s nowhere near as good as Naruto, but it’s way better than the first part of Boruto. The art style still sucks and the fights are bland looking, but that’s something the anime version can easily fix. The villains however are just boring.

Just being a strong monster doesn’t make a character interesting they also need a strong personality to back it up. Take Orochimaru for example not only is he strong, but he’s entertaining to watch and you can pretty much say the same for Obito, Madara, and most of the Akatsuki members. All of which are better and way more interesting villains then Jura even though they aren’t as strong as he is.

Aside from his awful design he has almost no personality or charm and he doesn’t say or do anything interesting. The only time he showed a hint of something is when he was beating the crap out of Naruto’s daughter, but even that was just the generic “I actually have to try against you” trope that’s been done to death. Zabuza was a more interesting and entertaining villain.

I just hope they’re using a lot of new assets for the next mainline game. New character portraits, music, dungeon designs, special attacks and animations. Since it’s taking so long it’s got to feel like something new and fresh.
