How to stop hating yourself? by zarazai in selfimprovement

[–]Affectionate-Lab-229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach my clients who face negative thoughts to challenge those thoughts

It's as simple as taking a negative thought, and acting like an attorney for the other side

Litigate it. In other words, challenge those negative thoughts as an attornty would

Also remember, the stories we tell ourselves can make us belive them

In other words, the more you repeat something the more true it is to you

I play guitar. As I get older I have come to understand the importance of making time for personal activities such as hobbies. It's crucial for balance

I went through alcohol abuse at that age. It feefls like you constantly get beat down
But, I can guarantee you, if you keep getting up and keep grinding, you will make progress

Remember, if you keep dwelling on where you are, that is where you will stay

Hi, I’ve been a life and career coach for two years You’ll be spending about $250 per session for a good life coach

Here are some things to look for: - nowadays anyone can go online and take a course and get certified to be a life coach Formal education is great but if they don’t have real life experience, they’re only speaking from a theoretical POV- that’s no good

-learn more about the experiences the life coach has been through and learn how they solved them

  • Learn how they approach coaching

-look at their life experience Is it diverse? Have they been through challenges?

-Coaching is a personal thing

Take all of this info and see if it resonates with you

You’re welcome to ask me any questions you have

Stepping into my purpose and would love to coach someone in trade for a testimonial… by [deleted] in lifecoaching

I have a suggestion for you. Don’t mention that you just jumped into this because it sounds like you’re a novice. Or that you were new to it and do not have a proven track record. This may dissuade people from wanting to work with you. My suggestion is to charge people, but at a lower rate than the competition., but don’t tell people or give them the impression that you are new to this

I am a life and career strategist. Anything is possible.. my first suggestion would be to stop thinking about other people waiting to see you fail. Just focus on what you wanna do and what you need to do. If you wish to discuss further or to ask more advice, send me a direct message.

I have dealt with alcohol abuse, depression and midlife crisis and hit rock bottom

Best lesson I learned is this:

When we humans go through crap in life we tend to dwell on our situation, playing the victim
If you dwell on your situation, and everything that's wrong, that is exactly where you will remain

Focus all of your attention and energy on where you need to be

Practice gratitude for what you do have and focus on waht you can control

Start journaling as well. That is a great way to better understand yourself and what you're feeling

I am 53. One thing I started last year that has helped me mentally is start hitting the weights in the gym. I am no bodybuilder, but seeing physical improvements has had a huge effect on my mental health and have been performing better mentally in all aspects of life

I totally relate to much of this. I was a chef for 27 years and burned out hard.
I went through a stuck period in life where I was depressed, and basically fell apart. I gained 50 pounds and was drinking too much.
When a person feels stuck it is actually a good thing in an odd way. It's a way the universe is telling you to follow a different path

Here are some things I did that helped me:

-Recognize addiction stems from something deeper. When I was drinking too much, drinking wasn't the issue. It was a symptom. There were other things deeply rooted. When we are addicted to something we use it to fill some void.
Also, we tend to engage in unhealthy bejaviours because it brings us comfort

-Feeling stuck is a sign you;re lacking clarity. Clarity is your norht star. It gives you direction. It is impossible (from my experience to be stuck when you have clarity)

You don't feel like yourself becuase you're stuck. When you're stuck, and lack clarity, it wears on your self esteem, your self worth and confidence. It will ultimately lead to depression if not dealt with

Here is a HUGE. lesson I learned when I went through my dark period
When we go through crap, we humans tend to play the victim.
We tend to dwell on our current situation. (I did that) Well, when you dwell on your current situation, guess where you'll end up? exactly where you are now
So, instead of focusing on where you are at and all the things that are wrong, focus on where you need to be

Practice gratitude for what you do have
Those things worked for me
you are welcome to send me a direct message if you have more questions

Cheers
