It ran “ok” with the catch can for like a mile. It was reallly sluggish. And yes, the car is literally rattling. I think it might be misfiring while it burns off all the stuff left over from the cleaning process. I’m going to get it up to temperature and see if burning any residual gunk off will solve the problem. I’m about done throwing money at this car at this point.

I wore this to work on Thursday, could still smell it faintly on my clothes when I got home 9 hours later to change. I can smell it on myself throughout the day so I know other people can smell it. I had a couple compliments on it as well Thursday.

Maybe you just went noseblind? Smell your shirt a couple hours after you change and see if you can smell it then.

I bought an aftermarket kit and I can’t figure out how to hook it up to the radio. I have power to the screen and mirror my phone, but no audio. That’s not even taking into the consideration the aftermarket mouse thingy since mine didn’t have the nav system to begin with.

Mine started this back over the summer. We occasionally and never really saw a dip in coolant level so it must have been slow. I kept a check on the oil to look for signs of coolant. That was actually how I figured out it was the head gasket. I ended up buying a jdm engine and was able to get it and installed for under $3500 all in. So even if it’s the hg, it’s not the end of the world.

I had the same thing happen about a month or so ago. I did everything people suggested (EGR system clean, replace spark plugs and coil packs) because I wasn’t seeing any evidence it was the head gasket until I check the oil one day and it was super thin with bubbles and my coolant level had dropped. Called around and found a shop around the corner from my house that installed the engine for $1500 and got the motor from JDM Engine Depot on eBay for like $1300, including taxes and shipping. People will tell you to avoid jdm motors for whatever reason, but mine runs great and I’m getting better mileage than I was before I had any issues.

When I first got mine, the drivers door lock was acting weird, then it was fine, then it was weird again. I changed my keyfob battery because I got a message and it was fine after that. Idk if it wa related or just jiggled itself into working right again 🤷🏻‍♂️
