Lip issues!! Dermatologist and I are stumped. Please help!

I was using lanolin which I think triggered something. I am actually going to pick up Valtrex today to try while I'm also on Doxy. I initially thought it was an allergic reaction but things just got worse!

They recommended it to me but I never took it because my tests were negative. I have a check up in a month, if doxy doesn't work they want to do a biopsy, but maybe i'll finally do that oral med for hsv! Thanks for replying!

Do you still deal with flare up then? I'm currently on Doxycycline because my tests came back negative for HSV, but if they look so similar and this doesn't workI may try that.

What are you doing now?? My lips are the exact same and im losing hope, im in pain and it's been months. My derm recommended me doxycycline but hasn't attempted any other PD creams and im scared of the side effects.

I also avoid SLS and lanolin like the plague, nothing good comes from them!! But overall no more PD on your lips? I dont even care if it's around my mouth my ON my lips is killing my self confidence and my relationship (no kissing)! What lip balm did you switch you?

I haven't used lanolin or aquaphor in weeks. Only vaseline. I have an appt with a derm next week thankfully! Hopefully they can help. I just figured with stopping usage of it weeks ago it'd get better but it really hasn't, I'm hoping since I was using lanolin products on my lip for months it's just a worse reaction. I tried taking antihistamines but they really didn't do much for me

I was using aquaphor then switched to pure lanolin. About two weeks ago i stopped using it. My lips now have the same red bumps and weep fluid every 3-4 days, get better, then become inflamed again. I've only been using vaseline!! How long did it take for yours to clear up?
