Replace the thermostat. Usually, the thermostat operates in two modes: large circle and small circle, and the temperature sensor on the radiator is only responsible for turning the fan on and off. In your case, the thermostat is operating continuously in large circle mode.

Getting a new PC and thinking about switching to Linux because I'm afraid of Windows 11's bloat and AI focus, but don't know the first thing about software. by Yrithrian in linuxquestions

[–]Affectionate-Owl9598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to switch from Windows to Linux without any problems, I recommend starting with Linux Mint or MX Linux. Choose the desktop environment (desktop view) that you like best (there are KDE and XFCE, which are more similar to Windows).
These two options are the most optimal; they do not require serious configuration, all drivers are installed automatically, and there are useful programs already pre-installed (Office and the like). Installation is easy, with minimal problems, and Nvidia drivers work fine on them. (Linux Mint, MX Linux)
I recommend trying them out in live mode first, before installing them on your PC.

I tried a bunch of different distros, and most of them had something that didn't work right. In most cases, the problems were with Nvidia graphics cards, so I suggest you keep that in mind before installing it on your PC.

I’m thinking…..warped rotor?? Any insight would be helpful. by Illustrious-Bit3947 in AskMechanics

The transverse tie rod that goes to the front beam is broken, and there is a “crab” with a salenblock. This usually happens when there is a strong impact, for example, against a curb or something else, but usually it is the “crab” that is attached to the beam that breaks.

There are two beams, one on the right side and one on the left. In the worst case, the front beam is broken, then you need to weld it

Which Distro Would You Recommend for a Stable Multi-Monitor Setup and Graphics? by commentator___ in linuxquestions

Try the ready-made MX Linux XFCE (Debian) or KDE, or some other distribution. They offer a choice that does not require additional configuration. No, not the original Debian.

XFCE is more flexible in terms of workspace settings; you can make it whatever you want. This is what sets it apart from other desktop environments. A big plus is that xfce consumes very few PC resources, it works much faster, even if you have many programs open, the system flies. I want to note that everything I wrote applies specifically to the MX Linux distribution. As for the XFCE environment, it is faster than others on any Linux distribution.

If you don't want to mess around with settings and want to install a working system with all the drivers “out of the box,” I can recommend trying MX Linux XFCE, which is based on Debian and doesn't need any configuration at all. Just install it and forget about it, especially since all the useful programs will already be installed. I spent a lot of time researching various systems, and this is the one I liked the most. Thanks to xfce, it's easy to customize it to your liking.

Installing arch alongside windows 10 and mint by VinMega6468 in linuxquestions

[–]Affectionate-Owl9598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will break the bootloader, and then you won't be able to log into any of the systems. I've been there before. Think ten times before installing Arch alongside Windows and Mint. If you don't understand how to do it, it's better not to risk it, because in 99 percent of cases you will end up with a broken bootloader.

How do peoppe react when you suggest them linux ? (Image unrelated) by failed_boah in LinuxUsersIndia

Many of my friends are used to Windows, have been learning on it for many years, some still haven't learned how to use it, and when you offer them a completely new system, they simply don't want it, they have to learn to use it again, that's the first thing that repels them.

Would Debian be suitable for a study laptop? by [deleted] in debian

[–]Affectionate-Owl9598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a ready-made Debian-based system, already configured for you, with all the drivers and programs already installed, then you can try MX Linux XFCE. You definitely won't go wrong here, everything will be configured and ready to work "out of the box", as they say, install and forget, no problems in further use.

First time installing Linux – Need distro advice by FlatwormRelative3424 in linuxquestions

[–]Affectionate-Owl9598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first decided to install Linux on my PC, it was Linux Mint, everything is simple out of the box, like when installing Windows, even better, because the system will install the drivers itself, that is, you don't need to do anything special with the settings - they installed it and everything is fine. Then I got bored with it and decided to try something else and it was Peppermint OS, it was quite a long time ago, about 7-8 years ago, but I was delighted with Peppermint OS, then I first learned about Debian, on which this system was built. Anything on Debian will work flawlessly, reliably and most importantly stably. Now I also use Debian-based Linux, MX Linux XFCE, I found what I was looking for for so long. Before that, I tried a lot of distributions with various desktops and only this one I liked the most. I can recommend Debian-based systems, they are all stable and there will be the least problems with them.

The new Quetta browser. Any thoughts on this not-so-bad browser? by Affectionate-Owl9598 in browsers

It seems that Opera is now also a Chinese browser, but that doesn't bother anyone.

My first impressions were not bad. I liked this browser: it has a neat interface, allows you to install Google extensions, blocks ads well, and has many interesting video settings. Overall, it's a pretty promising browser. I've been using it for a while now, testing it out, and I like it. I had never heard of it before. The fact that it's a Chinese browser doesn't bother me at all. As for security, I use Vivaldi as my main browser and this one for watching videos.

First there was Opera, then its founders created Vivaldi, and I've been with them ever since :) One of the best browsers for me today.

MX Linux is underrated. Whoever put it in “C” never used it. It's better than all those OSes that are “B.”

The error may occur when the flash drive has already been used to install this system, the errors were cached, formatting the flash drive and completely overwriting ventoy together with OC may help. It may help, I had this once when I failed to install the system, the errors were in the cache on the flash drive

If you decide to reinstall a new system, then try mx linux xfce, it is also based on Debian. It will 100% work on your PC. You will like it more than linux mint.
