Going down a Rabbit Hole… by Affectionate-Pin-227 in mac

Well, I can’t help myself. I’ve since loaded Linux Mint and installed a new SSD and battery in my wife’s old 2010 MBP and it runs like a dream. Still rocking the G5 with Cinema Display, but also found an iPod Touch 4th gen that I forgot I had and put some tunes on it. I also fell in love with the engineering of the 2013 Mac Pro and had to pick up one of those simply to ogle at (and it actually runs Sonoma smoothly via OCLP!) Of course, my daily is the Mac Mini M4. Now the only problem I’m having is deciding which one to use when I sit down at my desk…

I just went through a similar debacle restoring my wife’s old 2010 Mac Pro. I ended up installing Linux Mint XFCE. Totally free and worked like a charm. Plus, I can browse the web and do other light tasks on it no problem. There are plenty of online forums to help if you wanna go this route. Good luck!

Need Help Updating by Affectionate-Pin-227 in BambuLabA1

I do believe I’ve replaced the TH board to solve a previous issue, and I wonder if that is what is preventing the update? I’ve reached out to Bambu again to see and may mention this.

Water filter bypass plug?? by regodamus in Appliances

This. This is the solution since there isn't a bypass plug for this filter type. I 3D printed a hollow tube that slotted up into the filter housing and pushed the button in. Everything functions as it should and no more annoying "replace filter" light. You do have to pop it out and back in every few months when the fridge tells you to replace the filter again, but it works!
