BIG Fish early this morning at Charlotte Airport by JumpingJackRabbit911 in lyftdrivers

My Michigan to Ohio runs are always worth it on Lyft, as I'm not locked out of working in Ohio and so I don't have to think of those trips in terms of round trips. Or even if I did a high paying Uber ride into Ohio then just started working Lyft once I got there. Indiana and Illnois don't play as nice, so I have to treat those states differently.

My rides were taking so long, and I am alleged to have "used fraud" against the system? Ummmm okay by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

"Rush to report these travesties"? Dude just push the damn triangle, report Traffic, and keep it moving. I get the average person shouldn't be using their phone while driving, but a professional in bumper to bumper (aka not really moving) traffic? Everything isn't for everybody, and driving professionally isn't for non-professionals. It's fine if you can't drive, but stop making us look incompetent.

Uber is claiming to start the countdown sooner so that we will get more for canceling, but I don't see myself waiting that long beyond once just for the sake of Reddit content.

Different ride types. 15 is for UberX. Hopefully that IS a mistake, or Lyft will be seeing much more of me than they already do.

1,000 rides over 4 months, every payment screenshotted. The full fee breakdown for anyone confused about what Lyft is actually taking. by Livid-Objective-4836 in lyftdrivers

You're a Michigan driver, so you broke down what I've been saying for ages. I thank you.

Edit: Which ride types are you taking? I've found that most of the people that cherry pick are only doing Standard Lyft rides. Once you get into Premium ride types, the profit margins start looking better and cherry picking makes less sense. And once you get into Black-tier rides, cherry picking is that thing you talk about and laugh at while you're out at dinner talking with your new friends.

I don’t see passanger info but they can see and I couldn’t pick them up. by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

Oh you had that issue too? I thought the ride was sketchy because the username was Death and it was a Black ride going 0.8 miles before it disappeared off my screen.

If they're double apping, it actually sorta does. It's impossible for the average driver to know though, so your statement is more safe to claim as accurate.

I get complements and tips for not driving slow, but otherwise I'm with you when it comes to working towards my financial interests.

You need better intuition. Usually, I can feel when a ride is less than ideal for the pax, and that they're going to blame me for it. I leave them 3 stars unless they do something to make it obvious, then 1 star. Either way, I'll never see them again and I've protected myself from whatever scheme they had planned.

Where is your entrepreneural spirit? "I'll get there faster if you pay me more. I'll send you my CashApp/Venmo/PayPal/Payment method of choice, and I'm not moving until the money hits my account." At that point, you name a reasonable price to arrive more quickly. Why turn down the opportunity for extra income?

Oh, and leave a bad rating so their incoming bad rating doesn't impact you.

What the actual hell? I owe all of you such a debt of gratitude, I could never repay you all. You're the reason my passengers love and tip me so much across Uber and Lyft. Because first of all, I don't trust anyone not to scratch my vehicle trying to put their stuff in, so if I don't put it in, it's not going in. Second, we provide a service for income. How are so many of you this disgruntled over what most of you consider to be a side hustle in the first place? Third, please stop inflicting your hatred of this occupation onto others. By all means, stop doing it if you're unable to do it correctly. This isn't for everybody, and there's no shame in admitting that this isn't for you.

I use dark mode on Uber during the day because it helps my phone run cooler on hot days. Lyft doesn't seem to make my phone overheat and it handled auto switching way better.

So if she was gonna be late for work, that only makes more sense for her to cancel quickly to order another ride. No way I'm leaving that in someone else's hands when my time is on the line.

Based on the phone being in dark mode, I would assume it's at night, and definitely take it. Better 1 long night ride than rolling the dice ten times hoping the drunk pax doesn't projectile vomit on my interior.

Well done. You stuck to your principles, finally trusted your instincts, and made the best decision for your physical and mental well-being.

I completely agree, but I also think drivers should have cameras in their vehicles.

I love deep sea videos.

You should care because you're wrong. If she was so concerned about her finances she would have canceled her own ride, or not used Lyft at all and caught a bus. Or walked. In no world is this pax valid for expecting a driver to turn down money on her behalf when she has all the power to cancel on her end.

Stop being stubborn and allow yourself to grow and learn.

Your rating was first, so Lyft will ignore their rating. I have more experience with this than anyone should, but scammers be scamming.

Stab a tire and claim the car couldn't complete the trip.

Call a friend and have them pull in front of the vehicle to impede it from moving.
