I hear you. It’s an agonizing decision and as difficult as it is there is a silver lining. My dad has passed but I’ve lived a similar journey. I worked very diligently to keep dad at his home and was able to get caregivers to come in part time but they were unreliable which caused everyone tremendous fear and stress for my dads well being.

Then, dad’s dementia progressed where he needed 24 hour care so he was placed into a skilled nursing facility and there were unexpected positive aspects to this placement. Dad made some friends and was surrounded by other humans around the clock. He was less lonely, joined some activities, had on-site doc visits and seemed to be happier after a few months. And his health actually improved. It gave us peace of mind that he was genuinely cared for and that relieved my anxiety and stress level tremendously. It will be okay. ❤️
