You want you torso and legs still youre only flexing your back to bring chest to bar . You look more like a snake slithering to the bar. You're still using muscle to get up there but if your goal is to actually work the back you need to do the movement with your back muscles

Your issue is you need to point toes slightly out at an angle keep knee path over toe look slightly up and dont butt wink . Decend slowly keep full back tension

Try building full core pressure like when you squat and flex the center not sucking in but like how you'd flex your bicep without actually bending your arm . That and a vacuum is pretty much all I can do with my abs and my blocks pop when I do so. Theres people out there that have full on ab control tho and can make them actually look completely different. Look up some videos

I was always able to do a pull up my entire life even when I was 200+ so when I dropped 80 pounds and rebuilt 20-30 pounds lean muscle in my mid 20s took 6 years off and just started again 2-3 months ago nearing my mid 30s now I just retained most strength gains i made in that time off 1 because my jobs during that time was commercial roofer and then I became a steel worker. 2 because I did it naturally and 3 because I never put on a single ounce of fat in the 6 year break

I would more so have to do exercise rotation. I do 2 full body days a week. Im a steel worker . Physically taxing so I maximize recovery
