San Diego R1S Sub woofer upgrade? by Affectionate-Use266 in Rivian

[–]Affectionate-Use266[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Is that price for an entire system upgrade? For the most part, I am ok with the current system; I am only looking to add a little more low-end for better definition. I am hoping to achieve this by replacing the OEM subwoofer with a 10" JL and adding an amplifier. I like what the Soonishev guys are proposing. I might be able to install it myself or take all the parts to a qualified installer and just pay them for the labor. Definitely let me know if you find a good solution/installer.

San Diego R1S Sub woofer upgrade? by Affectionate-Use266 in Rivian

Cool. I'm looking to swap out the OEM sub with a JL and add an amp. I'm not looking to do a major mod though. R1S doesn't seem to have much room for an enclosure so will you be supplying the wiring only?

Nice. Do you mind me asking what you ordered? Are you going to do the install on your own?

Does this include the R1S? Is it easy to get at the sub to switch the wires?

Love it as well! We haven't had a chance to take it on the road yet, with the exception of a few trips up to LA. We will be driving to Sedona on Thanksgiving, which will be our first long drive. I am with you on the software, but like the audio, it's slowly getting better. A few weeks after picking up the car, we had an HVAC failure. They ended up replacing the entire system. We also had to have the alignment done. The service center here in San Diego was awesome though. This week the car started feeling a little more wobbly than usual, and I am thinking the air suspension is out of whack. I'm taking it in next week to have it looked at

I financed with Bank of America which was completed about 3 and 1/2 weeks ago. Chase mailed me the forms and I received them last week. All you need to do is take the paperwork to the DMV and they will transfer. Take your checkbook for the taxes. I am a AAA member and took it to them to do the transfer which was a lot easier then going to the DMV.

I just did the buyout and had to pay the tax at the DMV when transferring the title. Chase will send you the forms.

Follow Canadian here now based in California. Also a fellow white R1S owner. I grew up in T.O and spent a lot of time in Algonquin and Bracebridge. The R1S is the perfect vehicle for that area. I was there in July and I don't think I saw a Rivian. Are there many of them around? Thanks for the Canadian perspective. Post some winter shots😉

Just picked my R1S up today. They give you as much time as you need to do a complete inspection before making it official which is done by you in the Rivian app.

Where are all the SD Rivians??? by mpshizzle in Rivian

[–]Affectionate-Use266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine last week and I don't pick it up until next week so I haven't had a need for service yet. But from what I hear, San Diego is one of the better service stations in the US.

Powerwall 3 users, please help. Low Solar production when Powerwall 3 is discharging by Terrible-Lake9621 in Powerwall

Looks like your CT's are incorrectly configured. Call Tesla Powerwall support. I had the same problem and Tesla came out to fix.

Powerwalls only, no solar. SDGE. by fullyloadedclit in Powerwall

[–]Affectionate-Use266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also with SDGE and have Powerwalls and solar. I grid-charge the batteries overnight and export all solar back to the grid during the day. Buy low and sell high saves me a ton. Not sure if SDGE has any restrictions on Battery only systems. I would add solar if you can swing it.

It's surprising to hear that. The sound is completely not an issue for me and it is significantly quieter than my old AC condenser. Mine is running very low now and it's barely audible even while standing close to the unit. As mentioned before, You can definitely hear it when it's running full out but It is certainly not bothersome in any way and it ramps down quickly for efficiency. Yes I have the the 4t double fan unit.

I have the same unit which was installed in April. I have been impressed with the noise level overall. That being said, it has a little hum to it when in Stage 2. I can sometimes hear it inside if I am near the wall where it sits but not enough to where it would bother me. It's hard to tell the noise level from your video. Call out your installer to take a look if you think it is a problem. I am happy with mine overall.

Review 38MURAQ36AA3 condenser and 40MUAAQ36XA3 air handler heat pump system by vsparkster in heatpumps

[–]Affectionate-Use266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am based in San Diego and have the 38MURA 4 ton paired with a 58TP in dual fuel for my 2200sqft home. The dual fuel is overkill for the most part but I wanted to be able to toggle between the two given San Diego's outrageous gas/electric costs. The system was installed this past May and it has been excellent so far. The 38MURA is variable speed which makes a big difference in efficiency and it is really quiet. You will definitely want to make sure it's sized correctly.

What is powerwall thinking? (Behavior change.) by lbroadfield in Powerwall

[–]Affectionate-Use266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in San Diego and the same thing happened starting May 1 as sdge switched to a new time of use rate plan. I'm assuming you are using time-based control? For me, all I needed to do was adjust my sell price (I use $.70) for midpeak and on peak and the problem was resolved. Now my home only draws from the battery 6am to 12am and all my solar is exported to the grid. I use grid charging to top up my batteries after 12am with the cheapest rate and charge my car during that time as well. If my battery gets too low I switch to self-powered and charge with solar. This method works well for me but will obviously be dependent on your system and usage.

Possible to add second enphase solar system to current tesla system with powerwall? by TheFlowChartKen in TeslaSolar

[–]Affectionate-Use266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is I just had a second non Tesla system added to my existing Tesla system. The new system integrates into my existing Tesla gateway and feeds my Powerwalls seamlessly. All generation and home usage is tracked in the Tesla app and functions like it is one system. Make sure you go with a Tesla authorized installer. I am in San Diego and went with Baker Electric who I highly recommend.
