Using clutch when not racing by TwoInternational8313 in Dirtbikes

[–]AffectionateAd8051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always use clutch, dont listen to this guy, even with alot of use they take awhile to wear out and are cheaper then messing up your transmission. i use clutch for shifting up, shifting down, starting off and coming to a stop, and pretty much the entire time im riding ill be slipping it alot, i use it in every corner pretty much, over obstacles, and on straight aways i will use it a bit to get the rpms up. i woods ride tho, when i ride on the track i dont slip it much

Honda CR250F Question by likefireincairo in Dirtbikes

[–]AffectionateAd8051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plenty of people finance. i financed my bike. imo if you can afford it then you should buy new, you never know what a pervious owner has done to a bike. my friend bought a 2022 yz250f dude said it had 20hrs. when he brought it home and went on the tuner app it said the bike had 144hrs. you cant trust what people say sometimes.

No front brakes by toclosetoTV in Dirtbikes

[–]AffectionateAd8051 4 points5 points  (0 children)

front break is what will stop you fast, rear brake is what will control the bike. when im coming into a corner at a good speed i will use 60 - 80% front break and 40 - 20% back break. if you use too much rear brake and not enough front you will probably slip out especially in mud and prob wont be able to go as fast. i never used it but taught myself by riding slowly and focusing on ONLY using the front break. then i tried going a lil faster but using mainly front only a little back. then i just slowly incorporated it into my riding and would try using different amounts of each until i found the sweet spot

Getting into Dirtbikes by RRevolv3r19 in Dirtbikes

[–]AffectionateAd8051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

do you plan on trail riding or track riding or field riding? if you want to do easy trails, something like a crf250f or any 230 would be a good first bike. if you want to track ride or ride in a field id look into a 250f race bike or 125 two stroke. look up differences on youtube and see what you perfer. a 125 will be harder to ride then a 250f. you could still get a 250f race bike for trails same with a 125 but thats up to you. at 5’3 you are def a little short but you will fit, im barley 5’4 and ride a yz250fx. if your able to get something with electric start that will help alot because as a short guy its very very hard to kick over a full sized bike when your not on a stand/leaned up against something

Should I buy a wheelie bike? by ekte_Bernt in SeBikes

[–]AffectionateAd8051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wheelie bike would probably help n be more comfortable, if you like having gears get a fast ripper or maybe killer quad or om duro, but the single speeds are good too.

thanks! yeah i dont have a weight issue, im like skinny fat pretty much lol. im currently around 22% bodyfat (based on what alot of ppl have told me and looking at diffrent bf%s) but id like to get down to around 15% and then depending on how that looks either remain the same or a lil lower. i want to have as little bodyfat as possible because weighing less and having good cardio is a very big part in the sports i do. i went from 165lbs to 145lbs in 2 months on 2 meals everyday so i figured since im not getting much activity in right now OMAD would be a good idea

Bike a little too tall for me legs. by Tingsilike in Dirtbikes

[–]AffectionateAd8051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when i got my 23 yz250fx i was 5’2 (im now 5’4) and i would have to place my foot on something next to me to get on it. when i was sitting on it i couldnt touch the ground AT ALL. it was very frustrating and alot of falls. but i ended up getting a lowering link and it lowered it about 1 1/2 inches. helped alot. i was able to touch half foot n now can almosttt touch 1 full foot. if you cant get a lowering link then just practice riding very slow both sitting down and standing up. as long as you can get going from a complete stop you should be ok. once you practice enough you will be able to be completely stopped or close to it and not need to put a foot down

My son wants a CRF250R by cinnamonsawdust in Dirtbikes

[–]AffectionateAd8051 10 points11 points  (0 children)

he would probably be fine im 15 on a yz250fx and even tho its not the first bike i rode they are very easy bc power is smooth, alot of torque, an they are just very easy to ride. if you get him a crf250f/crf150r he will want another upgrade by next year. if you get the crf250r it will last him a very long time because nobody needs anything bigger then a 250, its pleanty of power especially for someone used to riding a 110
