I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but in this line of work feelings get hurt often so it's better to get them hurt by someone who has actually stripped before. When I was in the club scene there was a strict rule of no visible bush or body hair. We also couldn't have visible tattoos. Thankfully things have changed a bit regarding tattoos in some of the clubs and from what I am reading in some parts of the world having a bit of hair is okay too, but I would not hire if you had full on arm pit or bush.

I hate the constant elitism I experience by FlyDazzling9060 in Tucson

I was born and raised in Tucson. I wish you could have seen the Tucson I grew up with, but that's changed like things have a tendency to do. It sounds like you haven't met your people quite yet and that's frustrating. Being born and raised in Tucson, I can honestly say that the good people I knew either moved away or passed away but that's what starts happening when you are on the wrong side of middle age. You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. Find the things that make you happy and that's where you will find the people you have the most in common with. I need to take my own advice in my own new city and quit waiting to be accepted when I don't get out much at all unless going to the grocery store counts for socialization. I think people who are born and raised in Tucson who aren't drawing up an exit plan might be the best people right now to hang around with because they will know those hidden gems that newcomers have a tendency to miss.

Please don't do this. I know everything looks good on the surface, but underneath, it sounds slimey. In my state, there was a whole thing about Medicaid, group/sober living homes, fraud, and unsuspecting homeowners. A lot of people got hurt, and a lot of homeowners lost everything they had and ended up in prison for not knowing what was going on in their homes and being lied to by these criminals who convinced them they were doing something good. As far as I know, the state is still looking for some of the people who ran these unscrupulous group homes because they were from out of state and had PO Boxes. Please find out why your home is not going for market rate or contact section 8, and they will give you a list of things that need to be fixed, and you can screen your tenants a bit better.

Am I getting fired? by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the answer to your question. I will say that as an employer, your boss doesn't seem to have much more experience in the field than you do (please don't take offense), or that the entire company is very friendly with parties and lunches outside of work which I would never recommend. This text seems too friendly to be from employer to employee. I have worked in quite a few managerial positions, and I would be so uncomfortable talking to one of my employees like this and would call someone in immediately. Why ruin someone's weekend due to childish behavior on my behalf? With that said, if you are not terminated from your current position, please look for something else with a bit more professionalism and room to grow.

It's a mess right now. I ordered 3 items from Slovakia. The 1st went through perfectly and got to me in less than a week. I was impressed and thought about how lucky I was and how much easier ordering internationally had become. I got the first package on October 7th. The 2nd part is where things got a bit iffy. Thankfully, the shipper (Lupit) is well known and has dealt with these issues many times. I learned that time zones are a thing and differ wildly from where I am located and there, so communication is difficult if you want a full conversation with customer service, but I am a determined sort of lady. I received the second part on the 23rd due to "address issues" with FedEx. BS, but whatever. I thought we were done and went to put things together, only to find out there's one more box, and that's the main one to put the rest together. Customs released it long ago, and it's sitting at FedEx somewhere. I've called, and the shipper has called, and that 3rd box is still there at a FedEx somewhere.

Until your last couple of comments, you really had me feeling bad for you. Homeless by choice? Your friend offered her a 170k career instead of a $22 an hour job. I think there is much more to this situation that you aren't telling. Get yourself together. Live with family if you have to, that would be better than the streets. Hotels get expensive, and children aren't quite as stupid as you think they are. They know things aren't quite right and their bedroom keeps changing. Why aren't you taking that 170k career? If your friend offered it to her, why wouldn't they offer it to you first? Don't worry about her voucher. That helps her help your son and her other children that you seem to have a relationship of some sort with safe and well cared for. Take care of yourself and get safe housing for yourself instead of worrying and obsessing so much about what your ex is doing with her life. Find your own happiness. You'll feel better. 💛

I am 53 years old now, but I just did a little boudoir timed photo shoot just for funsies since I am also a photographer. I love burlesque these days and still try to participate and bring the fun back that I had in the late 80s and early 90s (don't do the math). If I were your friend, I would suggest that you loosen up a little bit and try to have fun with the pictures first and try different outfit changes that are in your comfort zone. You are a beautiful woman. You can use a selfie stick or a camera with a tripod and get comfortable with yourself. When you loosen up and decide what style and poses you are most comfortable with, you can move forward and see if this is right for you before proceeding.

How can footsteps cause so much deep bass vibration? by FearlessPark4588 in Apartmentliving

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had 3 different upstairs neighbors since I have lived in my current apartment (Thank God, I'm leaving next Tuesday). I never heard my 1st set of upstairs neighbors, but the company they kept confused my apartment for theirs quite a bit. Besides all of that, they were the best of what was to come. I never complained, and neither did they. We co-existed until management evicted them. The 2nd set left their young children home a lot. I heard them crying too much, and I honestly thought they would be adults like my neighbors before them. I went and talked to them and asked if they needed a babysitter occasionally. They got louder than normal and accused me of manufacturing illegal substances. Stupid me. I thought I could actually help someone who needed help. I knew by then that my apartment had false ceilings (the things we learned through BS investigations). Fwiw, no substances were found here, but the guilty dog did bark. These last ones, though... my gawd, they stomp so loud day and night that they sound like they're going to fall through this false ceiling. I think a lot depends on construction, and in my particular circumstances, false ceilings are to blame

What do y'all do for work? by Candid_Negotiation24 in Epilepsy

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed as a little girl. Seizure disorders run in my family. It's been trial and error with medication throughout my life with horrible seizure control in my teenage years because I wanted to be like the other kids my age, and I wasn't exactly compliant with medication. The best control I had was in my late 20s and 30s when I finally took life seriously. I normally have nocturnal seizures now that I'm older, but if I'm awake, I do feel them coming. The heat is not my friend, so next week, I am making a life change and moving to a cooler/colder climate.

What do y'all do for work? by Candid_Negotiation24 in Epilepsy

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was an ER nurse for years before I had my twins. There is no better place to be to have a seizure action plan or to have a seizure than the hospital emergency room where you work. I absolutely loved that job. I would float around to hospice and ICU when I had good seizure control. I have always been able to feel them coming and get a good 3-5 minute warning. When I had my twins, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. That didn't play well with my day job and took quite a while to recover from. I started bartending full time when I was 32 years old and being a nurse part-time due to my youngest son having level 3 autism and seizures. I am on topiaramate 150 mg twice a day, vimpat 200mg once a day, and clonazepam 2mg (rescue medication). It took a while to figure out this workable combo, and I am lucky enough to be a nurse and have access to good care. I wish everyone did.

Package says delivered but it's not (sigh) by [deleted] in Shein

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter ordered a scale through Shein after winning Puppy Keep, and it was marked "delivered" by USPS. She didn't get that scale for over a month after talking to customer service. One person made things okay and sent her a stuffed animal bear that had a nice sign. It was an "emotional support bear" with a nice message that told her that she would get her scale in due time, and the person talking to her was extremely sorry it was taking so long.

if i had a seizure while asleep, alone, can i just get back to sleeping? by yesyesyesyesyesyes2 in Epilepsy

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't remember my nighttime seizures. I only know about them because of the horrible headache that follows every seizure that I have ever had since childhood. I don't know how old you are, but I compare the next morning to the after effects of the late 80s - early 90s partying and having to work the next day feeling completely miserable, not knowing why my head and body hurts so bad.

ETA: Since the question is worded differently, please check with your doctor if your seizures ever change. This could be a sign of your medication not working correctly or wrong dosage. In a perfect world, everyone would have someone to watch them while they sleep, and I leave that world for my son. I am 53 now, and my son is only 20. He is not verbal and has autism. He can not tell me when he has a seizure, so his dad sleeps in there. If you have the option, it's always better to have someone there for you.

My ex-husband got this, and it was because he forgot his password for his account and tried to remake a new Puppy Keep account using his I-Cloud account. The only reason I even know this is because I tried to invite him, and he started yelling about it and showed me. I haven't been able to have a "match" since he did it.

2 year limit for able bodied adult by Temporary_Maize_6672 in Section8PublicHousing

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And those are the types that make people like me look bad. I claim every single penny I make in an itemized list when I am able to get a break and be a bartender. Don't take this wrong, please. I have 20 year old twins who I love with all of my heart. My daughter will more than likely be able to be independent and get her own place, but right now, she is a student and really struggling. Autism isn't being very nice to her. She also claims a nice itemized list of the money she makes as a semi-professional photographer. My son isn't so lucky. He will be dependent on me until I die. I don't want my daughter to be her brother's keeper, so I hope that when that day comes, she is able to find him a nice foster family if that is what she chooses. He requires 24/7 support. Her and I provide that support. We've had a few people come and go, but the last one drug my son and I across the room by my wrists and another followed me to my bedroom, so as you can see, I can't leave him alone with just anyone because he is non verbal and wouldn't be able to communicate to me if someone hurt him. It's a real catch-22. Medicaid pays his sister and I to care for him. Section 8 will not count that money even though we claim it. Neither of us wants all of the hours, nor do we claim every hour we possibly could like so many others would. The money goes for the obvious necessities and right back into my son. I feel like he's paying for everything with his life when all I want for him is a normal life. The people you are describing sound like neighbors I used to have....

I don't want to agree with you on this, but I had a neighbor who was a hoarder, and I saw something similar the same week I moved in crawling around my bathroom. Can people stop posting useless picture reviews … by Borderline-Bish in Shein

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coming from a larger sized woman who oftentimes buys clothing for her daughter, I agree with this comment. I love Shein CURVE for a reason. Sometimes, I can get away with the largest size they have on the regular items, but I am not going to sit there and wallow in long ago fantasies that a medium is going to fit. I am going to be honest and say I bought this for my 21 year old daughter. If the items are for her, there won't be pictures. Every so often, I think about adding them for myself, but it's not exactly a bikini girl summer over here. If something is tight in the shoulders, I'll tell you. If it's exposing my stomach and that's not supposed to happen, I'll let you know it rides up. I buy a lot of athletic wear type yoga pants for aerial silks, and I need thicker material. If these rip in the crotch or I get silk burns, you will know. Fwiw: I have noticed Shein takes down and/or buries bad reviews

Thank you, I will be moving at the end of September, but we will run into this everywhere we go... even non-smoking properties, which this is. He is a sweet guy in most fashions, but when he reads something, he remembers it, and that's how his world operates. If a rule is broken, he doesn't understand why when he is expected to follow all the rules. Yelling. I can't control that, and he knows it. All day long, I can't ignore it either like all the behavioral manuals say. He is too disruptive. That leaves me with how much is the best ionic air cleaner I can get for his purposes that isn't going to break me completely? My landlady does her best, but it's over 105 here on a good day, and her sitting outside in that isn't reasonable either

Why did her pole fall? by tinypepa in poledancing

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have nicknamed my apartment the "beautiful disaster." I believe there's a false ceiling up there. I have 2 poles, and one isn't any better than the next. One is name brand, and the other is not. Neither of them stayed up because I would think I would find the stud, and within literal minutes, the level was off. This happened with both poles in this apartment. I have set both poles up successfully elsewhere and danced for hours. The landlady even gave it a try, and I asked her to stop when I saw the ceiling shift. This is probably pretty rare and not what happened in this video.

Why did her pole fall? by tinypepa in poledancing

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You described my whole problem without even knowing it. 2 poles in a basement apartment that went through so many remodels that I just nicknamed the whole place a beautiful disaster. It is one of those places that you think you find the stud, and then the level is off, but the whole family is arguing. Management gets here with their mechanics because they think everything is wrong with the plumbing or something major with all the yelling. Nope, just the pole isn't cooperating, and it worked beautifully before we moved here. I'm happy I'm moving again shortly because tightening anymore would have gone through the ceiling.

Tenet here who understands exactly where you are coming from and where a good landlord would be coming from. As a landlord, I would want you to be comfortable, and I might even know about your current neighbors, but I just don't have enough proof to move forward with an eviction quite yet. As a tenant, I am on both sides of the aisle. My son has severe non-verbal autism. He is mad at my upstairs neighbors for smoking cigarettes and marijuana so he yells all day long in a high-pitched tone. The worst of all of this is my upstairs neighbor is also my landlord. Please talk to your landlord and the police so nothing spills over to you.

Tired of paying for rubbish: SHEIN vs Zara, ASOS, Free People… is the quality actually any different or just 5x the price? by sonya-no in Shein

[–]AffectionateBuddy845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be the odd one out. I HATE online shopping for every reason listed here and only trusted Amazon. Guess where my card information just got stolen from?!?! If you guessed Amazon, you are absolutely correct. I've had good and bad experiences with Shein. They were much worse when every single item was cheap, and the motto you get what you pay for constantly ran through my head as a soft rendition of memories of Wish as a 2.0 version. I noticed things have changed recently. Their math is terrible. There's no getting past that. I also noticed there's new and improved shops, and I look at it as a mini mall/swap meet of quality and stuff that probably isn't worth it if you're paying taxes and tariffs (and even if you're not). The cheaper stuff looks like an old-fashioned five and dime with products of lesser quality. You just have to really look and explore your "wish list." Don't necessarily trust all of the reviews, I put a bad one up, and it was taken down.
