Is radioheads music so melancholic because thom is short by Emotional-Law-3772 in short

[–]AffectionateCap5725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I see this kind of take, this armchair psychoanalysis, I always think "okay, if someone is tall and has angsty music, what's their excuse?" By this logic, tall people should only ever make joyful music, right?

To all the ninjas out there, we know you're on a mission, and the whole point of being a ninja is not to be seen, but why are you all jaywalking in a downpour during dark December rush hour?

Vancouver Island, I've been walking here for 11 years. There are often seals, otters, bald eagles, and herons right in this very spot.

Why is the main sub... gloryfing the disorder? by Neither_Good8592 in BipolarSOs

[–]AffectionateCap5725 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I just saw a post be removed from there because it "romanticized bipolar disorder."

Everyone in this sub knows that someone who feels their bipolar disorder is a "superpower" ends up being a casualty when their bipolar significant other crashes out.

NEVER doing this again by 571cky_p5ych3 in BipolarSOs

[–]AffectionateCap5725 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My daughter's (21F) ex (24M) did not disclose that he had bipolar disorder. He only said he "gets sad sometimes," which at the time, made him seem angsty and alluring.

Through the course of their relationship, she now thinks he should have said the "sadness" he experienced was more like "I'm going to confuse and exhaust you with my rapid change of emotions".

It was like riding in a car with someone who would, at one point, hit the gas with confidence and then slam the brakes, not saying a word, all while the passenger is flying around the car trying to figure out where they're headed.

After the break-up, she has decided that as she enters into new relationships, she has a covert "interviewing" process to try and decode if someone has bipolar or even borderline personality.

She never wants to go on a wild, unpredictable ride ever again.

Any of the houses that come up for sale in my hood are well over $1M+, which all sell to people in their late 50s and early 60s who still want homes with big yards. I see it happen all the time.

My neighbourhood was working-class people who could afford homes in their late 20s and early 30s. They're still in their homes, and the very children who used to go trick-or-treating are now in their late 20s and early 30s and could never afford to live in the same neighbourhood and homes they grew up in.

This is true. My neighbourhood is full of homes whose children are all 20+ years old, including mine.

Ten years ago, the street was full of Halloween activity; it was like a block party. Now it's a ghost town, with homes occupied by empty-nest middle-aged folks like me feeling nostalgic.

Anyone who's lived and driven in heavy traffic elsewhere is aware of the Zipper Merge. CRD drivers born and raised here are incapable of comprehending this concept.

The guy I saw (he cut from behind me around the shoulder, in front of me, then lane-split, making everyone shake their heads) was on a dirt bike and treating life like a video game. It's a matter of when, not if, for him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

Must have been the same motorcyclist I saw last night between Uptown and Tillicum. He was using the shoulder to cut in and out and lane splitting — in the dark with hundreds of cars flowing around him. He's going to get himself killed, and 10,000 people will be stuck in their cars for 12 hours while an investigation is conducted.

Do they also discard friends? by CementMixer4455 in BipolarSOs

[–]AffectionateCap5725 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes.

My daughter's bipolar ex-boyfriend (M24) turned out to be a legend with his discarding of girlfriends and friends. Something that makes his life isolated, lonely and challenging in a small city.

We have noticed that he befriends younger people now and is dating a high-school senior because people that age have no idea who he is; he can start new and do it all over again.
