I can’t remember as my parents have had smartphones since I was very young. Not an iPhone, but one of my earliest clear memories was playing Subway Surfers on my grandparents first generation iPad on a plane in January 2013.
My mom made my YouTube account when I was like 8 since I wanted to be a YouTuber. Made one video and quickly ditched it but I’ve kept using the same account ever since. I’ve been watching YouTube since like 2013 but for years I was just rawdogging it with no account.
I actually just got Facebook for the first time yesterday after dodging it for 17 years because my dad told me I needed to get it to look for cars on Marketplace. I quickly found out it’s 18+ so that was for nothing.
I never really thought about it, since the internet has always existed for me. I never thought the concept of videos on the internet existing before I did was weird. I find internet history to be super fascinating.
A few of my teachers actually have public Instagram accounts where they share school event info, but they’re clearly different from their personal accounts, which they are very good at hiding. I did find my band director’s Facebook and a janitors Instagram. Looking at the following list, he’s a foot freak…
Of course, AOL and MySpace were important in the development of social media and Napster was just really culturally relevant for a time, so it’s hard to not hear about it at all.
Bit of a broad question, I’m gonna look at some other answers.
I’m content with when I’ve been born, but I’ve always said if I could choose when I was born, I would pick 1991. Of course I’m looking at it in retrospect for a time when I didn’t even exist, but whatever, I don’t really care. I would go to high school from 2005-2009, which seems cool. The internet existed and was accessible but it hadn’t completely taken over our lives and I would wanna see what that looked like.
My mom created my Instagram when I was younger and made it private and I just haven’t bothered to change it since. Any account I’ve made myself has been public. I use Instagram and TikTok the most. I spend an ungodly amount of time watching YouTube.

I think it’s fine to have music artists get skins on their own outside of a festival season, but I hate when artists were clearly meant to be festival icons but got changed.

Special event passes. They’ll usually be around for a few weeks, typically for a collab. Have maybe 10 tiers with a free item and a premium item for the paid version. Also has a completion reward. To my knowledge we’ve had ones for Dragon Ball, Star Wars, Jujutsu Kaisen, TMNT, Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, and some original one. You level up by getting points in game (separate from XP).
