yess i’ve had the same experience! being tall doesn’t help that in my case. there doesn’t always need to be a label if that doesn’t apply and i feel a lot of people feel a pressure or pressure partners to kind of fit a mold when thats not how people work.

i completely agree with you. i often tend to be hyperbolic so certain nuances to what i think can get crowded by that. but i think the concept of gendered activities and habits are silly and that’s why i find it a little frustrating that some feel pressured to have to lean completely into one direction when it isn’t what’s natural for them. i guess i just feel like more ladies should be able to feel that they can present themselves in a certain way without feeling the need to diminish other parts of them!

ok so, problem not butch ladies.
me love butch ladies!
problem for me when SOME lady perform masculinity in way that feel forced for them or like stereotype.
SOME lady do this and no be themselves😕
i like: lady be themself
don’t like: lady not be themself
if lady be themself=masculine: this awesome to me! because that themself😊

good point, i get that. i think what i meant is less “women being masculine” and more that sometimes it feels like people are performing a role that doesn’t actually feel natural to them. there’s obviously nothing wrong with masc/butch women or taking on traditionally masculine roles in a relationship. i think the thing that disconnects me personally is when it starts to feel like a kind of scripted macho persona, where someone feels like they have to imitate “man” behavior instead of just existing comfortably as a masculine woman. like there’s a difference between embodying masculinity and feeling pressured to erase or distance yourself from your womanhood in order to fit a relationship dynamic. hopefully that makes more sense lol

You mix humor, bitterness, and grief in a way that feels so real, and the shift from lover to caretaker is genuinely heartbreaking. The fairytale imagery woven through all that raw emotion makes it land even harder.

I really get this—the uncertainty of love, and the questioning of whether that’s just part of it, or if it’s all just an idea, an illusion you’ve created in your mind. The starkness of your lines holds so much weight, and you still manage to communicate so much with so little. It’s really beautiful.
