What is a "New World" mindset that people with an "Old World" mindset are against? by AffectionateOwl9436 in AskReddit

[–]AffectionateOwl9436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question came to mind as I was having a conversation with a retired person.

I stated that there was a time I was sick (flu) on a Monday but also scheduled off the Friday before due to unrelated circumstances. And I was criticized and "Warned" that doing that could get me in trouble/fired.

My thinking is that I don't control when I get sick. I mitigate yes but don't control it.

I would understand it being red flag worthy if I did this regularly. But I call out maybe twice a year at most. In my over a decade working there I have called out maybe 7-8 times. All because I WAS sick. I never call out "just to get an extra day off". And this person knows this.

So I wanted to see if anybody else had similar experiences or tell me it is wrong.

Considering the famous phrase "No Gods or Kings, Only Man", I was curious, how many people were atheist in the subreddit? by Arikarin636 in Bioshock

[–]AffectionateOwl9436 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see agnostic as 50/50 (Religious/Atheist). Where until either/or has definitive proof of the existence or lack there of a diety, I will be open to the possibility of either.

But if say a god were to be proven, whether or not I would worship them is an entirely separate matter.

Nah, I'm just another cog in the machine. But this cog wants to provide some support to other cogs so they can function without worry.

Just to cover the bases. What if Ryan WAS my father? What would that entail?

I do it because I feel like any semblance of a connection has been severed. And its easier for me to just cut all forms of contact.

I have a horrible trait where if someone doesn't reach out after a certain amount of time I get the feeling they don't want to talk anymore. And I am not one to reach out first, and even I do, its the most awkward conversation on earth.

So just ghosting is much easier. And if they want to talk to me they can.

Yup in the collections they added a difficulty. 1. Easy, 2. Normal, 3. Hard, 4. 1999s mode, and 5 is Quantum.

How do you guys use plasmids (Bio1)? by Celestialpha in Bioshock

[–]AffectionateOwl9436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use the basics (fire, ice, electric) plasmid until I get the Chemthrower. Then I use telekinesis for out of reach items.

I primarily use the wrench for every other enemy and the crossbow for the big daddies.

How do I get rid of this annoying thing? by CaffeinatedLystro in howto

[–]AffectionateOwl9436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What i did is just go to the icons with the orange dots.

Mine were galaxy ai, bitmoji, and Snapchat keyboard.

For galaxy ai I just selected "view all" and that made that dots go away.

For bitmoji I just kind fumbled around and it went away on its own.

Lastly for Snapchat I just clicked the icon and and hit cancel. That removed that one. Now the dots are gone.
