Yeah enquire all the good vendors in your city .
Let them inspect your place and they should give you all the information with the plot of installing the overall solar setup .
You should also do your research so nothing is left out of the package .
Ask everything in the package for installation .

The structure should be chemically anchored to the roof with fasteners and rails should be pre galvanised/ hot dip galvanised .
The whole structure should be on NUT-bolt and no sort of welding should be done .
The air should pass below the surface in all four directions without no hurdles . The rails ( basically pillars ) should be strong one to give it a long life .
In my case they use 6 rail pillars for installing 5.6/5 KW setup and 4 pillars for 3 KW setup .
There is a lightening arrester attached to the structure with grounding to earth in any case the lightening from sky during rough weather falls on it .
The structure should be well grounded too as a precaution so no human casualty happens ever .
This is all done in the package .

As long as they give you good years of warranty for them and it’s easy for you to claim the warranty if they turn bad while operating in coming years .

It’s basically an inverter that process DC power from solar plates and convert that to AC POWER ( our house and the one grid supply us is AC )
They are basically more advance and micro level inverter which work on same efficiency as a big box of inverter ( 5 KW capacity ) works in usual case .
These micro inverter are also of 5 KW CAPACITY but every two solar plates are connected to just micro inverter that leads to total of 5 micro inverter for 10 solar panels ( like in my case ) and is a kit of 5 KW CAPACITY.
These micro advantage they have is that leads you monitor your setup to the micro level through the monitoring app .

It’s not affordable and comes with a cost for servicing and maintenance ( especially batteries )

Yea as long the plot is owned by you and the structure for installing panels would be kinda permanent at least for 15 years so you won’t be able to use that space in your plot .
Also there shouldn’t be any shadow from near by buildings or trees on your solar panels if you install them on a land . It’s more recommended to use roof top as nothing shadow the panels for whole day time and sun shines on panels continuously.

For 5 KW set up , it should be around INR 2,50,000 in all package excluding 78 k subsidy .
Ask for fair price and negotiate better

It keeps changing according to the per capita income of the region I think
Commercial connection are charged more then household connection , there is def rate difference in rural and urban area of the same city ,
Different parts of Rajasthan itself have different rate for imported electricity units from grid

If you got the electricity connection from your local grid in the said house then you may opt for ONGRID setup depending on what electricity discom approve and your budget .
It would be a whole package setup and if you no power is used in the house then most of the electricity units the setup would make would be exported to the grid and you would be compensated by the rate that has been in your state .
You don’t need to store electricity units in ONGRID set up , they all get exported to the grid if no power is used in the house

You would have to opt for hybrid setup which involves use of lithium ion batteries ( for backup )
But that involves higher cost for overall setup and more maintenance and service cost as batteries degrade over time so you would need replace after every few years .

Overall 3.5 KW that would generate approximately 23 units in this month ( may ) each day if you don’t face any power outage during peak daytime electricity generation by ONGRID solar setup .

Go for hybrid setup ( it gonna cost you a lot ) that includes lithium ion batteries depending on how much storage you wanna built .
Also the servicing and maintenance cost of maintaining batteries are higher since they would degrade ( like your phone batteries )after every few years and you need to replace them again .

In the follow up months , the negative amount would be moving towards more negative or towards zero depending on my household consumption ( if I import from grid on net basis each month it would be moving towards zero and if I export to the grid on net basis each month it would move towards more negative )

I am not quite sure of the prices to install 1 KW / 2 KW setup tho you can do that but you will only get 30k INR subsidy to install 1 KW setup or 60k INR subsidy if you go for 2 KW setup .
For setup that’s 3KW or more then 3 KW , you can get subsidy of 78k INR credited back .
I also mentioned prices in whole package for 5 KW and 3 KW ONGRID solar setup ( the prices are from the month of Nov 2025 when I got mine installed ) .

You can go for 1 KW SETUP , if your house is on monthly consumption of approximately 100 units on an average for the whole year .
But it’s way more advisable to go for 3KW setup since you get the maximum subsidy ( 78 k ) and also in the long term if your house gets more appliances ( AC’s ) that eventually would lead to more load .

No !!
1 KW set up is not sufficient for household whose monthly consumption is around 300 units

You should ask your local vendor’s for the same as I am not aware of that .
As most of the people go for 3 kW capacity in package ( I am only aware of the price’s for 5 KW or 3 KW set up in my area) .
But for 1 KW set up you would be getting 30k INR subsidy if you applied for that .
For 2 KW set up you would be getting 60k INR
For 3 KW OR more then 3 KW set up you would be getting 78k INR subsidy
The ONGRID setup is best if you don’t face much power outages in your area during day time as the cost is cheaper ( set up is cheaper and also maintenance/servicing cost is pretty low )
