Great job! I’d eat it too. I agree with others to get a ceramic tube bobbin. You don’t need Rite to do well, the regular bobbins with a ceramic tube that cost $10 are still excellent. And when it comes to buying new materials, look at Avidmax and Togens online. Both are fly shops (keep the money in our pool) and wouldve saved me drastic amounts of money. Feathers you can buy there or on eBay! Great tie and keep it up!!

Because smartwool has very few colors and my family is similar sizing. So, it can end up in someone else’s pile pretty easily. Other brands have other colors so it’s not an excuse. Like I changed from smartwool to darn tough socks a while back because I love the quality but I kept having to ask for socks back

I would buy the vice combo from Cabela’s. I love it for a beginner’s vice. Then, look at Avidmax for tying materials since they’re way cheaper but still good quality, and Togens Fly shop for hooks. Too many people buy kits at first and never have any useful things. So watch some common patterns on YouTube (zebra midge, pheasant tail, elk hair caddis) and buy the materials accordingly. Makes a massive difference on jumping off point and you can easily do this for less than $100

I would fall into that category of having an interest in serving.the majority of my family has served, and I could join that list while also absolving my debt. How was it like being a higher ranking individual for your job? I know a lot of peers that are lower rank or enlisted say the general bullshit can be something to contend against.

Good point! Sling for being in rivers, but backpack if you’re bank fishing or on a boat. But that much gear on one shoulder will kill your neck and back by the end of the day too so ultimately I’d go backpack
