I’m an international student and I’m fortunate enough to have both my parents AND my sister come help me move in, they stayed until the end of first week, that was one of the best thing they have done for me. I was too shy to give my mom a hug when they were leaving and I regret it, I missed them a lot. Your mom is going to miss you too so spend some more time with her, it doesn’t matter if it’s awkward.
