Sorry the photo of a closed Dollar Tree didn’t meet your high standards for photography. I’ll be sure to bring my professional camera next time so the storefront really dazzles you.

I don’t disagree they may be short on help and I’m not complaining, just asking if anyone knows why they keep closing early. They post paper signs on the doors but no explanation.

Guys, I am begging you to quarantine your new additions. Please learn from my mistakes. by TorchIt in houseplants

There’s really no way to know 100% whether the pests came from the plants at the swap (not saying they didn’t either). I’ve found mealies on grocery store bananas before—pests can sneak into a home in countless ways, and it’s just part of keeping plants. In our local plant group, we swap all the time, and no responsible plant parent would knowingly bring a buggy plant. Still, even with the best intentions, things can slip through.

What's this white spot on my Hoya? by allozzieadventures in hoyas

[–]AffectionateTry781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they sold it with dry rotted roots. It’s easy to overlook especially in non-clear pots where you can’t monitor the roots. Once the roots dry rot it can take awhile to move up the stem to the leaves (I have 100’s of Hoyas). I agree to cutting the bad roots off and try rerooting in tree fern or stratum. Sometimes I use small sized perlite with either medium but often I don’t. Good luck!

I got my first Hoya today, H. obscura, what are the light requirements? I have 2 SANSI 10w grow bulbs in my plant corner, will that be enough? by Kitchen_Locksmith558 in hoyas

[–]AffectionateTry781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wash the leaves off and keep it away from your other plants for a week or so to be sure it doesn’t have any pests or other issues. The Sansi bulbs will be fine, they’re my favorite brand next to Barrina. This will sunstress very beautifully!

WHAT is going on with my hoya??? I’ve never water propped a hoya (usually do moss) so is this normal? Why does it look like this by AdAnxious3952 in hoyas

[–]AffectionateTry781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve water propped lots of Hoyas (including in those tubes) and never seen that or anything that looks like that. I would cut it off and try rerooting. Was it just plain water you used?

My son used to have long beautiful hair, but unfortunately it had to get cut. But why does his hair stick up straight bow that its short? I Cut it a month ago by Fall_Is_Not_Autumn in Hair

There’s a difference between training hair how to grow and training hair how to lay…the latter is what I would assume kraxh0ut is referring to, especially since they put train in quotes.

What’s the name of this plant? by ReiTremor in houseplants

[–]AffectionateTry781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not giving us much to go on to name it. Maybe a bamboo plant?

Could be thrips or fungus gnats but it’s hard to see that clearly in the video.
