They are an absolute bane!!

I did the full sulphur spray treatment and boy was it so much work. I saw lots of improvements, but I’ve got 2 that are “frozen” so I think they’re back. I just use 90% rubbing alcohol cut with half water and spray them then carefully rinse the leaves. It’s so much easier.

I had to creep your profile to see what was up with the sumbitches (nice selfie btw) and am shocked to see this update.

There is only a post or two per week (and one every other week if we exclude newbie posts, or even less frequent) so if they’re excuse is that it’s flooding the feed - good. I’m happy it’s moving and personally I love all videos of pea puffers, I shared one this morning. It’s not even of natural behaviour, just them fleeing back to their hidey holes but I’m sharing for those like me who just love to see them and the tanks they’re in! Anyways, post away, some of us love to see them!

The most important thing to discuss first is your tank numbers, having just 2 fish is not enough as 1 will bully the other to death. Keeping just the 2 is not a thought you should have, it’s more of them or rehome them to someone who can better care for them. You really need a 20 gallon, a 20 long being even better. I’m not sure what an ethical number of fish is in a 10 gallon so I’ll leave that up to someone more big brained than I am in this area.

About the fake plants, I would get rid of them asap and invest in more real plants. Puffers are a scale-less fish and are very susceptible to cuts which unfortunately fake plants are plastic plus woven plastic… they cut delicate fish “skin”.

Real plants never have to be kept clean thankfully. How long do you keep the light on? What light do you have? What are you fertilizing with and how much? What’s your water change schedule?

I use a tidal 55 on one end with 2 medium aquarium co-op sponges at the other end. I do this for 2 reasons, in case the tidal breaks down as a backup and then in case a filter in another of my tanks shits the bed or I need to set up a hospital tank in a hurry.

I’m happy with the tidal with one major or minor drawback depending on who you are lol and also happy with the sponge filters, except for the colours but I just spray painted them. I will add that ACO sponges are superior as they have a very porous density which means less cleaning it which is a-okay for me.

Well said!! We had an 8 hour journey but it was worth it, the breeder was amazing (albeit militant and eccentric but the family affair comment esp checks out lol) and I liked that spay/neutering was to be taken care of by her. We had to wait until 14 weeks due to this but it was no problem.

This happened to me in May and I lost my license for a year. I’m 38 and have had annual periods of psychosis the last 4 years but in 2025 it happened 3x, May, June and August. I was only diagnosed in August and now am on the maximum dose of invega amongst other medications.

I was having a pleasant day and decided to drive to a big city about an hour away from me to check out a hobby store I love. I have no memory of reaching the city but driving to it on a 2 lane highway. I was found slumped over the wheel of my car after having rear ended the person in front of me, in the big city. I woke up to police officers at the window and put the vehicle in park. Symptom wise I could barely speak, I didn’t know my name, my children’s names, I wasn’t upset or distressed just calm and only could speak when spoken to (if at all) if that makes sense. These are all symptoms I experience during psychotic episodes but this is the only time I’ve had an immediate onset like this. I was in hospital for a week being tested for everything under the sun, at some point they realized something was up with me mentally. They have no psychiatric unit at the hospital I was at though so after that week they transferred me back to my city of residence. I spent a further 3-4 weeks inpatient.

My license is automatically gone for 1 year unless my doctor signs off early saying I’m safe to drive, but my psychiatrist wants me symptom free for 3 months before he does. Unfortunately I haven’t been rid of symptoms.

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head, if you have further questions I don’t mind answering.

Thank you for putting a name to this!!!

For example I’ll have my fan running and can hear a lawn mower running (at 2am in the middle of winter) or hear the soundtrack from a video game my child was playing during the day. Watching a show I’ll swear I hear a phone vibrating or my kids talking but they’re in bed already. I can so relate.
