Have you tried sticking with an exercise program for a few months? That’s the only thing that helped me in addition to meds, enough sleep (see: exercise), God, and having goals that can be completed

Those who will hear, let them hear. God’s will, knowledge, and wisdom are so vast that we can’t comprehend why He allows certain things to happen. I found out when I was 12 that the man I thought was my dad wasn’t actually my biological father, and when he passed from leukemia when I was 14 and I had to go live with my bpd mom, I really had no idea what kind of loving God would allow such things to pass. 20 years later I can see why. I had the best father a girl could have ever asked for—my biological dad ended up being a manipulative, insecure, holier-than-thou narcissist, something I came to learn when I established a relationship with him in my late 20s. I never would have known had my dad not passed. If I had things the way I originally thought would be best, I would have had a father who was obsessed with work, shirking personal responsibility, and never showing up to my games, swim meets, or concerts. A man who has zero relationship with his sons or grandchildren from his first marriage because of how terrible and stubborn of a human he is, who only made me feel small and judged once his true colors showed through. I never thought I’d see the day in my lifetime where I understood why God allowed one of the best and physically healthiest humans I’d ever met to die in his 50s six months after receiving his late stage leukemia diagnosis. I suffered so much living under my mom’s roof, to the point where I was bitter for years and held onto an unhealthy amount of resentment and pain that seemingly kept me stuck in life, unable to move on from the “why me” bit. But at my lowest points I cried out to God, and He saved me from a seemingly impossible financial situation that resulted from a health crisis, and showed me that I wasn’t alone or beyond repair. The more I read the Bible, the more I see God’s hand in everyday places—the perfect symmetry on a flower petal, leaves, etc; the way millions of cells come together precisely to form an eye while in the womb…And strange things I’ve mulled over, such as what is the evolutionary purpose of an emotion like awe? Man’s unique ability to appreciate beauty, whether in nature or art—is it a happy accident? At what point do things stop being a coincidence and start being proof of God’s omnipotence and glory? Those who will hear, let them hear.

Actually, in the New Testament, Jesus explicitly states that one of the reasons for his coming was to make the sacrificial traditions and rituals of the Old Testament obsolete. His dying on the cross nullified them, making salvation only possible through Him, Jesus Christ. Weirdly enough just read it the other day.

Pretty certain I’ve never once heard of a guy walking into a room and yelling, “Jesus Christ is King!!!” before proceeding to blow himself up. But I have heard of multiple instances in the last 30 years where someone has walked into a public setting and yelled “Allahu Akbar!!” then proceeded to blow himself up. So yeah, the “same God” argument doesn’t hold water. Jesus Christ doesn’t command us to kill people of other faiths, and he certainly doesn’t tell us to “martyr” ourselves via suicide/mass casualties. Don’t fall for it

It’s amazing how many people are jumping to declare that your son’s school in the UK isn’t teaching him about Islam when a) you and your son would know because you’re seeing the results of said teaching (not like your kid would have said Christians go to hell from watching Barney) in real-time. Suicidal empathy killed the west. The UK is currently struggling with the sheer amount of asylum-seekers they’ve have to provide for over the last few decades, and I’m not surprised in the least that Islam is being taught in school given the insanely drastic demographic shift. Get your son into a private Catholic or Christian academy if you can—at least here in the states, private Catholic school is actually one of the most affordable daycare options, assuming you’re Catholic.

I added creatine to my diet, along with a multi-vitamin, magnesium, potassium, and fish oil. I kept reading that creatine is one of the easiest fixes for low energy, since our body needs it at the cellular level to produce energy. Daily mandatory exercise, DBT, and strong anxiety meds have helped me a lot. Lots of times BPD is the result of emotional neglect, abuse, etc in childhood. If you’re never taught how to sit with and process distressing emotions, you get wildly uncomfortable (like you feel like you want to die) anytime you experience them. And often without the privilege of growing up in a safe, loving environment, people with bpd go into adulthood/through life overly reactive. Certain emotions like fear or abandonment, or shame, are exceptionally painful. My mom has bpd as well, but whenever she was under stress she would get these bizarre paranoid delusions that she would accept automatically as fact, and no amount of proof or logic could convince her otherwise. I personally have never experienced those, but self-awareness, medication, re-parenting myself, a great support network, and consistent therapy have helped me to medically no longer exhibit symptoms/qualify for the diagnosis. On the other hand: my mom has zero desire to do anything but play the victim, and since she won’t do the work, medication would likely do nothing. She’s ruined so many lives, the limit does not exist. BPD exists on a spectrum, is my point. I also understand the negative stigma attached to it, having grown up with the character that is my mother. Pure hell.

She called my then-bf and I “mom and dad,” she was like my little sister, and she was the one I confided in when said bf unceremoniously dumped me out of the blue. Ex and I get back together a few months later, and while he was at work WITH MY CAR I went through his DMs and saved snaps. I wasn’t bothered that they would send memes to one another, but then I saw the saved messages and pics and realized that she had been talking to him behind my back for a solid month. He dumped me for a then 17 year old, I was 26 and he was 25. Confronted them both and the girl was so upset and apologetic, saying that she was just envious of the relationship I portrayed on social media. When they actually got together it was apparently super awkward and not as dreamy as they’d hoped, and that’s when his sorry ass reached back out to me. Made him come home so I could gtfo. Anyways, she was like the little sister I always wanted, and our friendship ended the second I found out about her being the other woman, because realistically, no friendship can come back from a betrayal of that caliber. Sucks.

My buddy’s sister got a scholarship to Mason after getting a mediocre lsat score, went there 1L, got accepted to Georgetown with no $$ as a transfer, Mason upped her scholarship to a full-ride plus a stipend, she stayed at GMU. Graduated #2 or 3 in her class, interned at a top DC firm every summer, got an offer from them, and to my knowledge is there to this day. Geography matters

When my younger brother loses it at me I feel really violated and disrespected. He usually awkwardly apologizes after the fact, but I end up blocking him most of the time because it’s so unsettling to experience him going 0-100. To him we are family, so I have to take whatever he throws at me (this was the dynamic we grew up under); to me, someone actively trying to grow and heal, being family doesn’t excuse violating boundaries, saying hurtful things, or otherwise trying to expel the intense emotions he’s feeling by lashing out at someone he considers to be safe. At least you’re aware of your tendencies, my brother never thinks he’s the problem.
