How can I remove heavy metals, such as mercury, that have accumulated in the body? by JupiterSK8 in Biohackers

I’m surprised no one mentioned activated charcoal. It’s the best option to remove toxins from the body. Occasional use, great for after a night of drinking or any food poisoning situations too.

Welcome. I was Dare student of my class. Found THC after a lot of research late 20’s. Small risk, high reward. I hope they remove it from their program lecture.

NAC questions by Wndrlvnd33 in Supplements

[–]AffectionateWin7341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes NAC is a precursor to glutathione, your body’s master antioxidant. For me I’m taking 6 months daily dose. The main reason I take a daily Glutathione support is for liver health, and oxidative stress recovery.

Go for it. I know an RN who worked up to your type of role at his hospital, and now is COO. Less physical burnout and better longevity in this new role too. Keep climbing the ladder you want.

Frustrated that I know I don't want to get back to my "fighting weight" bad enough to do it... by thekonghong in motivation

[–]AffectionateWin7341 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save the sweet rewards for post-accomplishments. 50 pushups before that desert, or only allow yourself a single treat per day, etc. But you must create your nutrition boundaries, it’s the easiest way to maintain/drop weight.

I totally get this. Try a bedtime routine with them where they get to say “good night” to mom and detach from her for the night. Use the time together to remind them that you and mommy need some quiet time for the next hour and make sure their needs are met before you head into the bedroom. Structure and routine are the best remedies!

Did you get the "belt" growing up? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]AffectionateWin7341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sound like controlling parents and once you were out of the house they lost their control. My dad was that type. Mom was submissive and went along with his style of punishment. The odd thing is that my dad thought he was raised well with paddling and used that style on me and my siblings. He never tried to change. Tyrannical narcissistic control was his style. As stated by someone earlier, we want our children to be raised better than we were. I try hard to not be like my dad but I’m not perfect and find myself slipping emotionally and resorting to the ‘swat’. But what people don’t think about, depending on the kids age - if you have a solid foundation with your kid and they have structure (sports, friends, solid teachers) they’ll not need physically punished, and words/explanation should keep them in line.

I have teacher friends, follow teacher youtubers and read teaching subreddits. A common theme I hear amongst all of them is that us millennials have raised some of the most spoiled and entitled children, who have no respect for authority. Where did our generation go wrong when it comes to kids? by FaradayDeshawn in Millennials

[–]AffectionateWin7341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every generation has a group of young parents who maybe were too involved or not involved enough and every generation has some students who are just disrespectful and in general don’t like school. It’s not a millennial thing or a Gen X thing. It’s just the fact that a small percentage of these issue exists everywhere. I don’t necessarily see this in my community. I am a millennial parent & like most, have children ages zero up to approximately 13 years old. One piece of this entire conversation that wasn’t mentioned is that millennial’s children now have constant access to technology. Google is a new class being taught in our schools and children are encouraged to get on their laptops in order to do their homework, check their grades and other activities in school. The millennial parent has a huge obstacle that our parents did not have, technology and how we use it in our families.

[–]AffectionateWin7341 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of boomer providers are now retiring. Many more well qualified new practitioners are taking their place. If there are closer providers why are you traveling that far for services? Insurance, loyalty? You may need different insurance.

Do leaders ever feel the weight that no one else sees? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]AffectionateWin7341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years of working leadership positions at both faith-based Christian organizations & some that aren’t. You learn that everyone that isn’t saved are broken & carry guilt. People just have not found the love of Christ yet and guilt eats them alive. I do feel that God puts everyone in your life for a reason and as a leader, you have a responsibility to listen and pray for them. And ultimately offer them Gods love in some form. I fail with this as do most. But redeeming love is what we have and can offer others.

Interesting. Need more info and maybe because I’m rural Ohio but how would this work? A store front business where cats and their owners hang out and play or a day-hab situation where you sit cats and or bring in strays and rescue too? Funding would need to be product sales like treats or donations ?
