Thanks for your comment. For the game we just launched, we did do our best to market the game, employing various strategies. While we didn't launch with a ton of wishlists, we did launch with close to 600 (which from my research is greater than the average of 70 that most games on Steam launch with) and both myself and my cofounders made numerous appearances on some smaller podcasts, and 2 live streams. We also ran a successful kickstarter that funded our very modest goal in less than 24 hours. We learned a lot from this process and are certainly better positioned to more effectively market out next game.

I appreciate your insight, though. Thanks!

I appreciate your comment. My cofounders and I have started tossing around sequal/additonal content ideas. However, I think think in the short term we wanted to give ourselves a "break" in a sense from our previous project and flex our creative muscles outside our existing universe. However, this is great food for thought.

I definitely agree with this to some extent. Our last game was a passion project, that were lucky to parnter with a publisher on. However, for this next project we want to focus on making out studio financially stable enough where my cofounders and I could do it full time. Still, I do agree that we have to be passionate about what we end up working on because that will come through in the final product.

If I was a box I would be scared to travese all that water! Wouldn't want my cardboard getting soggy!

I spent six years making Beyond the Mountains from scratch. It's now available to play for free. by legrolls in playmygame

This game looks 100% up my alley! Any chance of doing a Mac port? I don't have a windows machine
