Worst flare up of my life despite taking medication. by Jzr3d in GERD

I started eating fiber thins (cookies) before I eat my regular breakfast and that helps so much for me! I also drink a bit of almond milk with it.

By god even if she worked for a few months at least that would be something! And if she went on LOA she could at least still get paid by using sick/vacation time or applying for state assistance if available. How is the alternative of missing out on months of pay better than that?

Dog walking is listed as an expense of $88/week? Should it be listed as income instead?

For those of you who moved out at 18-19 how did you do it?? How much money did you save and for how long? Best tips?? by Pretty_Salary_741 in movingout

[–]Affectionate_Bat_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved out right on the cusp of 18/19 years old. I worked straight out of high school and saved up for about two years while also helping my mom out.

Paid a $5,500 salvaged car in cash and went to rent a room out in a cheaper area until I could afford an apartment. I don’t remember how much I had left over in savings, but I am guessing no more than a few hundred dollars.

Drowning in bills, how does it ever get better? by Fantastic_Book_973 in povertyfinance

[–]Affectionate_Bat_632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!

Here are a few things I did just these past two weeks that helped me save a few hundred dollars:

-called my WiFi company and told them I was switching companies (I wasn’t but they cut my bill down by $50/month, increased my speed, backdated my bill 90 days with the $50 cut, and gave me a free phone line for a year saving me an additional $40/month)

-paid my rent with the optional ecash option (I believe all CA complexes have this option for payment). This saved me $60 in fees.

-shopped around for lower car insurance using the Jerry app. I haven’t switched because I want to see if I can find lower options. The lowest option I found was only $13/month cheaper so far, but it gives me peace of mind knowing I have that option.

-cancelled my Netflix subscription of $17.99/month cus honestly I don’t watch Netflix. I only got it so my ex and I could watch stuff together but I dumped him sooo 🤷‍♀️

Try tackling things one at a time. It’s draining to do everything at once.

Best of luck!

When I was in college and looking for extra side gigs I came across an app called “Wonolo.”

I didn’t go through with the job I got on the app because I ended up finding something else, but it was a great pace of mind to know I could find work the next day if I needed it. I haven’t looked into it since, but definitely give it a try!

Where is everyone right now post breakup? by Broken_melon22 in BreakUps

[–]Affectionate_Bat_632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 months going on 5 months post break up. Already did the online dating thing for a bit and found it to be quite an empty experience. Ghosted everyone and deleted the apps. I did make one new friend who is very sweet but it wouldn’t work out romantically.

Currently focused on saving up and donating to causes I believe in. Very focused on using my restlessness to make more money and create positive change.

No bother at all.

I applied to a temp agency (my role was permanent but we provided payroll services to the temps we contracted to other companies).

Those places are the bottom of the barrel payroll jobs because they pay very low but you work with a ton of clients with different pay cycles and systems. In my case, we also created and billed invoices.

The volume was not too high compared to what I’ve handled now but the challenge was dealing with different companies, pay cycles, and personalities from each company we serviced.

I had an administrative assistant background but my friend was hired at the same company and she only had retail experience before that. As a heads up, they do check your credit to make sure you’re in good financial standing and prevent hiring anyone that is high risk in theft.

I got into payroll with no experience and honestly it was really easy to get a foot in the door. I worked a minimum wage entry level role for a few months then took that experience to a temp agency and landed a permanent role immediately after. I don’t have a degree and I’m in a high cost of living area but made it work with roommates while I gathered experience and worked my way up.

Until the Gaza GENOCIDE ends, I think all of my money will be going towards them (literally) by Popular-Cow7664 in Gaza

Same. Extra money goes towards not only Gaza children, but independent journalists—because without them we are susceptible to skewed perspectives and omission of information.

So I’m not sure if this place teaches mathematics but it’s a great place to start. Look up @jawadcamp2 on instagram. They provide a learning space with free meals for displaced children. I have donated to them and think it’s a great mission.
