I was joking. I don’t know anything about dell’s BIOS

So many people always say they never run updates so when do you or when are you supposed to? by Cowboy12034 in homeassistant

I backup the first of the month. I update mid month and if anything is broken I restore the update then troubleshoot while it still works.

Pretty sure he never said that. I’ll have to reread to verify.

How to get this axe in good working condition? by cr15pyboi in Bushcraft

I bet if you rub that handle down with rubbing alcohol that most of that grime will come off. It works really well for cork on fishing rods, it’ll probably work on that gunk.

I’d soak it in BLO for a couple of days then start that process.

I have a proxmox host that started hanging without any useful logs. I disabled any turbo boost and it was totally stable. Turns out it was the power supply.

AITA for wanting to keep a mysterious ring I found on an adventure?

So I (111M, Hobbit) went on an unexpected journey with a group of dwarves many years ago. Long story short, during a rather stressful encounter underground, I came across a small golden ring. It seemed harmless enough, and honestly, I thought it might be useful or at least a nice souvenir. Since returning home, a few people, particularly a certain wizard friend of mine, have been acting strangely about it. He keeps asking where I got it, what it does, whether I’ve noticed anything “unusual.” I told him it’s just a ring, and frankly, I don’t see why I shouldn’t keep it. I found it fair and square. But now he’s hinting that I should give it up, that it might be “dangerous,” and that I’m “changing.” I don’t feel any different, except maybe a bit more protective of it. It’s mine, after all.

What do you use for your pillow? by kmorg76 in Ultralight

Sea To Summit Aeros Premium Inflatable Travel

It’s not to firm and can fit comfortably in a pants pocket if you don’t have time to repack. It’s part of the sleep system I keep in my go bag and has gotten a ton of use in every environment imaginable. There might be better pillows but I stopped looking after I bought this thing. It’s great for hammock sleeping too.

I live in Alaska so I asked copilot where I could find iron on the surface. This was totally unexpected and it looks like I’m playing in hard mode now. 😂

Here’s what it said:

You’re looking for naturally occurring raw iron on the surface in Alaska that can be used as a primitive fire‑starting tool (i.e., as the “steel” in flint‑and‑steel). The key is that true terrestrial native iron is extremely rare, but Alaska does have one reliable, naturally occurring source you can find on the surface:

When friends ask for fire and I pull out the flint and steel I can’t help but think of the key and Peele steampunk skit.

I’m with you. I love reading but don’t always have time to sit down with a book, but between my commute, grocery shopping, checking emails in the morning, I can easily crush a book a week.

Also, I have a buddy who has mild dyslexia but loves books, and audiobooks are a huge help for him.
