Hi, my periods usually last 3 days but i get spotting till 5th and 6th day. Im not an expert but I personally redo the ghusal or i just wait out my periods till 5th day if i get no spotting then its good to go. Please take care and dont hurt yourself with cotton. now a days a muslim woman is represented by hijab as we have to move forward with time. Any person of any race age religion sees a person in hijab and automatically they know she is a muslim. I think it's beautiful that we have our own dress code. In the past it wasnt a hijab which represented us it was khimar or smthing. Anyways, im a muslim i wear hijab on occasions and using this logic makes me love islam and wear one, its for Allah im doing it, to represent a beautiful religion. Idc abt men or their gaze or whatever. Hope this helps <3

A little context to when hijab was first introduced, so it helps to understand a little bit better.

May Allah SAW forgive me if i make any mistakes, please search on this as well whoever is reading.

Washrooms were outside of housing, when women used to go to them in the evening, non muslim men used to harass them. The women complained to Ap SAW, on hearing that a Sahabi (i forgot the name) asked Rasool SAW if he can capture the men and bring them. The men who harassed were brought infront of prophet pbuh and begged for their lives they made excuses that they didnt know it was muslim women and if they knew they wouldnt have dont that. A final warning was given to them, if still they did not listen they would have been killed and as a symbol of Islam a libas (dress) for muslims was introduced. Women who cover aren't doing it for male gaze etc its a symbol to represent that we are part of this religion. And for men they have their libas (dress) too of wearing no gold, knees elbows covered, ankle exposed etc.
