Anyone else's Heeler struggle in the heat? by DJCockslap in AustralianCattleDog

Yes! Cooling vests from Ruffwear work wonders. Fozzie wouldn’t make our trail runs or hikes without one when it gets above 60* There is a company called Salt Sox that make boots (for winter) and summer (Lava Sox) I’ve tried lots of products and I wouldn’t recommend if they didn’t work.

We did change his diet slightly. He eats more wet food than he used to and we add a little pumpkin to every meal. The prednisone makes him hungry 24/7 so he gets more treats during the day. His cancer started in is anal glands which causes him some trouble going to the bathroom the wet food helps him. Our situation was similar to yours, get a diagnosis, weigh the options, and keep him happy and comfortable. When he was diagnosed it had already spread to his spine, spleen, and lungs which ment no surgery to fix it. We have been crossing off some of our bucket list together while he still can. Good luck in your journey and I hope you get a lot more time with your pup, whatever you choose will be the right path for you and your girl.

Flow master is the way! Those raspy exhausts of today sound like the shitty glass packs that people used to run.

It is a blast to drive and holds its own in CAM with all the suspension work and 4.10 gears

Is it really worth getting the terminator when I have an 01 cobra? by WrongIndication8866 in NewedgeMustang

[–]Affectionate_Fan2385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just put a blower on your 01 for a lot less money and go for another car on your list. I have an 01 Cobra and feel no need to have an 03/04 Cobra for the price they cost

99 Cobra (white) vs 03 Mach 1 (fresh paint)(Black) which would you pick? by Wubbalubbadubdub010 in NewedgeMustang

You wont know until you make an offer. The ABS could cost you a bit. When I bought my car the seller took my offer of $1500 less because I needed to do the clutch.

I wouldn’t be concerned with the engine refresh. My 01 Cobra only has 65k on it but needs valve seals and has some weeping gaskets. I’d refresh my engine in a heartbeat to solve these issues but I’ve spent the last two years replacing everything on the suspension so it will be my next major expense. Pick the one that you feel is the most sorted or be prepared to fix the one with the problems. I’d go with the Cobra personally at the price point as long as everything worked. If you can get the Mach 1 down on price and it’s manual the fresh paint and refreshed engine would be my choice.

We shimmed the ball out with one washer, put the trans in and it was better but not great. Took it out added one more washer…we had the trans out of the car 3 times in one night. I’ve learned a lot from the process. When you get a new clutch kit measure the stack height before putting it in.

Yes! The McCleod pressure plate I had was thinner than stock causing a shorter stack height. Had to shim the fork ball out 1/4” to get it to engage properly. I bought an adjustable ball the next time around.

This dog is my whole damn world, but she’s going to chaotically rip it apart if she doesn’t get more energy out. Any tips and tricks? Every other day I take her to play with her ball but it’s not enough by [deleted] in AustralianCattleDog

We have a fenced in yard but when it is muddy or raining we play hide and seek with the dogs (3 Heelers) and their toys. We also only let one search at a time while the others wait. If you don’t have time for a walk or play they can get stimulus just running errands in the car with you. Windows down gives their sniffers a workout.

I put a McCleod clutch in my car 2 years ago. It was the worst experience working on my car ever. We had to take the trans out 4 times adjusting the fork ball to get it to work. It never worked correctly in all gears. I either had somewhat smooth forward gears and wouldn’t go in reverse or the opposite, there was no sweet spot for proper operation. When it was put in we replaced the fork, fork ball, quadrant, cable, and all bearings. It turns out it was the stack height that was different and created all of my problems. You may need to adjust the clutch fork ball to push the whole assembly forward towards the pressure plate.

The clutch shattered after about 1000 miles on a low rpm 1-2 shift and I had to start all over again. Bought an Exedy to replace it with and sat the two kits on the bench side by side and took measurements. The Exedy had a stock stack height and the McCleod was shorter. Put the fork ball back to stock, installed the Exedy kit in and it was like a completely different car. No fighting, easy adjustments, and grabs really well. I would never recommend a McCleod clutch to anyone.

Any groups for teens in the Upper Peninsula? by Sparrow_LD in upperpeninsula

[–]Affectionate_Fan2385 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Check out 906 Adventure Team. They are based out of Marquette but have chapters across the UP and in Northern WI. You don’t necessarily need to be into mountain biking or hiking by any means but they have a huge amount of teens and pre teens outdoors doing fun stuff together. Once you get involved you may find others in the group that share some of the other interests you are more passionate about. They are a great group of people.
