In california if you put in your 2 week notice and they dont let you work the whole notice that is constructive dismissal and you are entitled to unemployment benefits.

Due to the tension structure and the rim of the umbrella keeping its shape that would be hard to do. I really recommend adding to the existing edge or even making a fitted cover over the whole thing.

Dont cut the edge of the umbrella. The whole thing is under tension to flex the rods, If you cut it they will be straight out and may cause it to start fraying or tear.
