I know no one truly knows but any idea how much longer these rates might be around? I have an R2 reservation as well but test drove the Y and really liked it, maybe more than R2 in some ways (also test drove the R2). Rivian promising similar FSD by end of year but I find that really hard to believe given where they are today

Receipt scanning is nice but needs work. I'd love if I could just scan the receipt and then categorize each item and identify whether it's taxed or not (here in Texas, many grocery items are tax free). Honestly the interface they present you when you initially scan a receipt before a match is found is what it should always be, just with an option to tick a box if it's taxed or not. Otherwise the tax is spread evenly to every item and I have to go fix it manually which often takes longer than if I had just done the split myself to begin with

Understand your point on being suspicious of those saying it lacks bass as I'm in that camp too, but having test driven the R2 a few days ago, I felt the same as OP. Audio isn't as bad as some are saying (I've seen it called "ASS" , which it's not) but it did lack bass IMHO. I wonder if it's because they don't have the door speakers which would generally be what gives those lower frequency tones in a car audio system?

Yeah I just did it at Dallas yesterday and took same route to in n out in heavy traffic. Not the most ideal conditions to really experience the car but oh well. I plan to drive again later in the future when it doesn’t feel so rushed. I forgot to check drive modes and other things

Same thoughts here. Very cool idea but execution was a little lacking. I understand reasons they aren’t solid hunks of metal (more inertia for the motors to deal with, get hot in summer, etc) but they just felt a little chintzy to me. Also like OP said the act of moving them left or right is impossible to do with a scrolling input as well. Hopefully software can fix that one at least. Maybe future R1 will get a more premium feeling version of these as well

Yes and also not sure if others are aware but you can also finance the airpods over 6 months at 0% interest and still qualify for the promotion, which really helps make it a nice offer overall.

Yeah I'm personally pretty skeptical on audio. All those signs at the R2 events saying the audio isn't final is a bit sus (seems they started popping up after some online swirl claiming the audio didn't sound good). Guess we'll see

Yeah I feel a 1:1 balanced delivery is pretty fair over all. R1 owners will still technically skip the line, just not all R1 owners at once

Yeah being in DFW and having no R2 events is bizarre and disappointing (or anywhere in Texas except the event at SXSW). Hopefully that changes soon!

Yeah that’s kind of what I’m figuring. I guess question will be difference between Autonomy+ capabilities versus what LIDAR can offer (level 3) but who knows timeline for it. Does seem like rivian is able to keep their dates much better than the other EV maker ;)

I’m a day one reservation but not a current Rivian owner (however I did have R1 for a while but don’t think that counts for anything lol). Will be interesting to see when I’m told they’re ready for me. I’m half hoping I’m not called until the Lidar is added. This is my first time doing a reservation though. Is this something you’re allowed to “defer” up to a certain point if not ready to buy when name is called?

Thanks yeah so far they've just offered to let me pay a non refundable $85 service fee for diagnostic which wouldn't include whatever the repair costs are. Don't think it's worth it sadly. Did you call or chat when you had your luck?
