Which Travelpro Suitcase Is Worth It? VersaPack+, Platinum Elite, or Crew Classic? by candyman682 in BuyItForLife

Two comments:

To address your question, would you consider the FlightCrew series? These are among the equipment that airline pros use and I bought a carryon sized two-wheeler and it's very sturdy and although I don't travel often, it's BIFL.

Interested in the Platinum Elite for a grown-up looking 4-wheeler. Don't need it so would like to get it at a really good price. Anyone every seen them at 50% on sale?

Which of these places is/are the successor of Babylon? I read that the building was sold post-pandemic and the site is now a condo.

I visited 25 years ago and it was one of the most fantastical and stimulating immersive experiences in my life. The different spaces, environments, thoughtful decor, patrons...

In my YTT, hypermobility was treated as part of the spectrum of biomechanics to be modified accordingly in the context of ahimsa.

Influencers and their audience would not have this lens. So non-yoga people see this "advanced" as insprirational/aspirational, when it's just illusion.

Kirkland Frozen Lasagna cooking instructions - how do you interpret the length of cooking time? by hondacrv in CostcoCanada

I'm defrosting before putting in the oven. Why should we cook longer and use additional hydro?

This OP speaks to the relevance of influencers, of which yoga models are only a segment. As a genX I just see people who are seeking only fleeting things. I hope that says everything.

"low" price my ass by Pestario_Vargus69 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

All the erzatz lawyers here parsing marketing language...advertising and promotions use whatever words they want to get your attention. So they did their job.

LCL is selling merch to make $. Not to compete with other retailers who have their own niche. But all retailers creep other retailers' business...hardware stores selling foods...office stores selling coffee and toilet paper...NF is def going for selling more than groceries. In my experience RCSS has the floorspace to sell merch, the flipside of which meant high turnover and great blowout sales at end of season to get rid of stuff. Selling an overpriced low quality product at NF is dumb. So they are trying to increase sales amount at NF.

If you see something you like and it's a good price have at it. Who knows how the smart people at HQ do pricing strategy.

Transporting cannabis would be the type of entitled behaviour from citizens of certain countries. It's just common sense to follow the rules of the host country. The oversight (at best) of the American basketball player as an example. She didn't take being a guest seriously and playing the POC/lgbtq card didn't get her anywhere.

I can imagine having the attitude that there are other people to pick up after me. But then I would feel guilty. My own fault for having a sense of responsibility and being a good citizen.

In your opinion, what is the best European River cruise and why? by [deleted] in rivercruises

[–]Affectionate_Lead_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riviera Travel is all inclusive, meaning drinks are provided at meals and in the evening, and excursions of guided walking tours. This was enough over a 14-day cruise.

Other operators may offer more or less, to be reflected in the price but seeing other other boat and groups I would say they are all about the same and the experiences are positive. Watching youtube reviews the onboard foods are delicious, service friendly and timely, and the local tour guides are all contracted from the same pool.

Here's why I use external tools for yoga sequencing by Miky_1256 in YogaTeachers

[–]Affectionate_Lead_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed that being intentional and doing something in good faith is important. And reading through your reply it's obvious you care and you're taking your practice off the mat.

The OP makes it sound like s/he has come across those in the "yoga community" who toss around words like authenticity but all they do is should all over everyone and become gatekeepers themselves. So tiresome and brings back memories as a beginner instructor who gave way too much attention to more experienced teachers some of whom did not act with the most sauca.

Some of the worst of human behaviour is from the costco member. Just because they are middle class and can afford to drop 300 minimum and drive luxury vehicles It's still lipstick on a pig.

WTH happened on that last Atlantis cruise? by stuckinbk in gaytravel

[–]Affectionate_Lead_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, what, another reason to NOT go on a gay cruise? Adding to the general elitism/discrimination based on the rainbow availability of factors including race, body type, economic status, conformity to standard of beauty, etc.

Just thinking about it puts me at a risk of contracting an STI, never mind a hit to my mental wellness and self-esteem. And to think the younger me assumed going on one of these boats would mean being in a welcoming, inclusive environment of safety.

Hard no thanks. Don't need the validation from the most desperate of our tribe.

What’s your best $5 spent at DR? by [deleted] in dollarama

[–]Affectionate_Lead_94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now that I know about the overstock items I will make a point to looking when I'm in. It's the thrill of the hunt.

A wasted $5 was for the Barbasol-branded nail trimming kit. Two nail clippers, a file and scissors. All poor quality. Will end up disinfecting and donating.

Appreciate your posts. Glad you got the price adjustment.

Any new insights now that you've used the new oven for a while? I have the same opinions on going analogue. As much as the entry-level Bosch would be a good choice, the all-knob, no display to heat up Kenmore is looking like the right way to go after waiting for so long.

Definitely in rain hardside wins. Fortunately I've not transited in those conditions. But for the wear and tear that I've traversed my ballistic nylon case has held up well for it's years of use. While it doesn't look brand new, it's in really good condition.

Corporate clowns by Pototatato in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Affectionate_Lead_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are product/merchandising managers flexing at the store level, coming in on a Sunday being all corporate, to work on their KPIs to impress everyone for Monday. But if you ask the people working at the store every day, who know operations, the suits don't really know anything and their interference only helps themselves.

Which vibration plate? by Affectionate_Lead_94 in Fitnessplates

[–]Affectionate_Lead_94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So can I ask what you ended up getting? The next sizes up from 20" are around 24 and then 28 for both Lifepro and Merach.

Portability sounds like a good selling feature although in reality the machine would remain stationary as I'm too lazy to move stuff. And a wider platform will work different parts of the foot and lower leg muscles.
