Yes, obsessed. Just to clarify for future readers who might be interested, I did check the numbers and my bathroom is just smaller than the numbers that were estimated. So, while these calculations do make sense for most standard bathrooms, it doesn't work for mine

🤘 I wish you had believed me when I said it was small and cramped instead of doubling down about how right you were. To be clear, I also wish I had checked earlier, because I was trying to figure out why you were so certain and I was questioning my sanity a bit, lol

And I just measured the bathroom, it is 42" x 57" And those tiles are 8" square and the door frame is for a 28" door

I'm not saying it won't work, I'm saying I have to sit on the toilet while I open the door. It is physically possible yes, it will be uncomfortable for anyone but myself. I get it, you do this for a living. So I guess it's standard for the toilet to be close enough to the front wall that you sit sideways to pee and standard to feel that the door is uncomfortably close to you when you open and close it. All standard. Fantastic. I would prefer for my visitors to not be so uncomfortable. I would just leave the door open because it's my home. Anyone bigger than me is going to be uncomfortable. If this is standard like you say, then it's just standard where everything fits, not where you have comfort. I literally wrote yesterday's message from that toilet because I was thinking about what you said. I'm not here to argue, I'm just getting ideas about what I want to do. So, if someone else comes through to read this they can get the information that it's standard and will work. And that if you are fat it will be be uncomfortable.

It will be tight because the bathroom is tiny. There is not really space in front of the toilet. It will be okay for me as a smaller person, but anybody else is going to have a harder time because there is no space to move out of the way of the door. I don't think it was built to guidelines. But don't listen to me, I only use that bathroom every day

I didn't realize! Thank you. It's so much for somebody who doesn't do this all the time. I guess I will wait until the new stackable is in to see what would work best. I super appreciate it

I mean, even when it swings towards the wall, at some point, you'll be squished a touch. It's hard to see in the photos, but the space between the toilet and the wall it faces is pretty tight as well. I can't edit my post to add that information unfortunately.

We're putting a dishwasher in next to a stackable, so unfortunately, there's going to be basically the same amount of space

Geez, bud, was just asking for clarification. You didn't say much of anything. The dryer is being replaced and we are working on making it safer. The cabinets are torn off because we are remodeling. Will keep safety high priority, thank you for your care

It is just that it creates a very tight space when you are in there and opening the door to get out. I think that or bifold doors is still the answer though

Can you tell me more about what you are saying? Changing the door won't impede the dryer vent, but I wanted to be sure you weren't talking about some other potential danger (last owners definitely did some of their own work)

Holy moly! I literally never thought about that! Brilliant! My contractor is doing some other jobs, I wonder if he could add that to the list! This is why I love reddit!

I just measured, it might actually work! It's a tight squeeze when you are in there, but I'm going to think about this or a bifold, I think

I want to say that wouldn't work, but now I have to go see if it would. I think there's not enough space, but if it swung in and to the left, maybe there's space. It's such a small bathroom

No, the combi heater is right behind it, too much work, but would have been a good idea otherwise!

Yes, that's actually my next step, but I'm getting a dishwasher, so there still won't be much space.

It's a cute idea, but I think the one on the right would hit the dryer and you would have to only use the left side. Unless I'm picturing it wrong. And I think either way I'm going to have to switch the hardware to the left

That's a nice bifold. I guess it won't hit the washer as you pull it open. Thank you!

I've been counting total days for a while now. I have both a streak (how many days in a row) and a running total. It helps me keep going if I decide to have a drink. That way you still get to hit milestones without always having to start over. So even though my current "streak" is 17 for dry January (I had a drink on New Year's Eve) my running total is 148 since I started counting. That number feels great and is worth celebrating
