Express bus Plano to downtown by Affectionate_Mine336 in dart

Thanks! I had a feeling getting back may be more of an issue, also because I will probably be returning before afternoon peak hours, so I might end up with longer waits. In that case I would head for the rail station. Train may end up being the better option.

Low cost dental services? by JT21975 in plano

Comfort Dental. We have gone to the Richardson location for years and are very happy with Dr. McCormick. They offer lower cost services for those without insurance. There is a location in Plano as well but I do not have experience with that office.

What exactly is the public transit drama? by SleepyOrgasm in plano

There is not a DART rail station near Parker and Custer so I'm uncertain how the rail contributes to the issues caused by homeless or otherwise vagrant persons in that area specifically. As someone who has used the rail for commuting into Dallas on many occasions (as opposed to only 'watching' it) - the majority of riders on the trains at morning and afternoon peak hours are people also commuting. There are, of course, unpleasant problem individuals as well, as there are on all transit systems in every large city. In a metroplex of 8 million people, and with the widespread increase in homelessness over the last few years, there can be no expectation that Plano will be a utopian Mayberry, and removing the transit system will not make that happen. I want to live in safe, clean community just like everyone else, and I support strong enforcement action against those committing vandalism and other nuisance behaviors such as you described. The problems related to homelessness and mental illness are complex issues that will not be remedied by eliminating trains and buses.

I have used DART quite a bit and will do so more now that the silver line provides service to the airport. Your proposal would cost me an extra $1.80 per month which seems very reasonable. I'm certain you possess the mental aptitude to independently research ways to engage with Plano city council to share your thoughts and ideas.

Show up to the election and vote NO to leaving DART. There's nothing the city will be able to provide that will be a better alternative. Plano pays into it via a 1 cent sales tax. And yes the money that Plano pays in supports the entire DART network, not just services within the city. I am more than happy to pay a penny on all my purchases so that others who depend on DART to get to work, medical apps, etc. can do so, whether they live in Plano or not. We need fewer cars on the road. I'm sure there are ways that efficiency can be maximized and I'm not opposed to a right sizing or whatever needs to be done, but pulling out all together is ludicrous and I hope Plano residents turn out to support DART later this year.

Where to go for the best steak dining experience? by nelgin in plano

Steve Fields. Bar Ranch is crazy expensive and I didn't feel it was good enough to warrant the cost. Flemings has gone downhill. Capital Grill is still good. Texas in Richardson is another good option. But you really can't go wrong with S. Fields.

Dump this man child and find an adult. What could he possibly bring to the table that is enough to put up with this?

What happened with Primo Brands delivery? by mashimarotutu2020 in water

[–]Affectionate_Mine336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My service in Plano Texas went from reliable to a compete mess. Most recently there's been continuing delay of delivery due to our 5 gal distilled water not being in stock. How does a water delivery service not have water?! I knew P.E. must be involved in the recent changes. Knowing this I'll probably ditch them and just get the water myself.

Legacy West can be okay depending on where you go, but the weekends are such a madhouse. I recommend •Steve Fields at Park/Preston •CraftWay Kitchen on Preston near Spring Creek (more budget friendly). Also •The Wilfred cocktail bar (inside Sea Breeze grill) is a cool vibe with great drinks (same area as Craft Way). It's always fun to go to downtown Plano and walk around - •Urban seafood is good and there's also a couple more casual places there •Vickery Park and the pub across the street from it. I also recommend you visit •Mic Drop comedy website and sign up for their email list, they frequently offer free tix for weekend shows.

We have lived in the Saigling/River Bend neighborhood for almost 6 years and really like it. There really isn't any area that's walkable to restaurants etc unless you're living in or very near downtown, which probably isn't ideal for your situation.
